Sherry Jean McGraw
NATCHEZ – Sherry Jean McGraw, formerly of Vicksburg, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Natchez Community Hospital. She was 57.
Mrs. McGraw was born in Cloverdale, La., and was a resident of Summit, Miss. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Watson and Edna Jane Watson, and a brother, Roger Dale Watson.
Survivors include her husband, E.L. McGraw of Summit; three sons, Michael McGraw of Austin, Texas, Mark McGraw of Vicksburg and Matthew McGraw of Summit; one daughter, Caroline Briggs of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Watson of Eagle Lake and Kenneth Watson of Ferriday, La.; three sisters, Claudine Walker of Baton Rouge, Mebel Vines of Gonzales, La., and Carrie Jernigan of Ferriday; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Harvey Alonzo Moore Jr.
LAKE PROVIDENCE – Harvey Alonzo Moore Jr. died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was 69.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Alonzo Moore Sr. and Della Prudence Moore; a brother, Argyle Moore; and a sister, Margie Rachal.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Moore of Monticello; two sons, Bruce Moore of Monticello and Billy Moore of Forest; one daughter, Bettie Griffin of Forest; two sisters, Lois Volckmann of Waukesha, Wis., and Joy Arledge of Monticello; one brother, Ray Moore of Monticello; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello with the Rev. Tommy Simpkins and the Rev. Fred Hale officiating.
Burial will follow at Epps Cemetery in Epps.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Arledge, Ricky Arledge, Dickie Arledge, Ronnie Garner, Anthony Moore and Cecil Parmentier.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Griffin, Billy Moore Jr. and Josh Moore.
Antonio Sayles
PATTISON – Antonio Sayles died Monday, April 18, 2005, in an automobile accident in Copiah County He was 23.
Survivors include his son, Malik Segrest of Pattison; his mother, Cathy Sayles of Pattison; his father, Pattie Brinston of Port Gibson; his maternal grandmother, Willie Sayles of Pattison; his paternal grandmother, Bernice Brinston of Port Gibson; four sisters, Lawanda Shanks-Wells and Sharon Shanks, both of Port Gibson, Jasmine Lacey of Saginaw, Mich. and Antoinette Sayles of Pattison; two brothers, Patrick Brinston of Port Gibson and Antwan Sayles of Pattison; and other relatives and friends including Roneesa Morgan and Shamari Burrell of Pattison.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. J.W. Hall officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in Pattison. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 this evening at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson and from 1 until the hour of service at the church.
Ed Salassi
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Ed Salassi, formerly of Vicksburg, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at his home in Johnson City, Tenn. He was 74.
A Vicksburg native, Mr. Salassi was the son of the late Walter and Ruby Salassi. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, working in the Mission Fields and with the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home.
He was a veteran of World War II and Korea, serving in both the Army and Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Salassi and Otto Salassi.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary Allen Salassi of Johnson City; a son, George Benton Salassi of Russellville, Ark.; a daughter, Beth E. Jones of Russellville; two stepdaughters, Jeni Thomas and Jeri Neitherland, both of Fayetteville, Ark.; two brothers, Robert Salassi of Lynchburg, Va., and Richard Salassi of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Edith O’Brian of Pascagoula and Ruth Warndolf of Wichita Falls; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Services were April 13 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Hughes officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tenn.
Pallbearers were Harold Smith, Randy Cook, Joey Ibraham, Bob Moore, Rick Cates and Will Barkley.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Edwards, Paul Adams, Danny Birkner, Ed Ashburn, Rick Meredith and David Ferguson.

Annie Owen Williamson
TALLULAH – Annie Owen Williamson died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 66.
Mrs. Williamson was a church secretary and a retired teacher’s aide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Williamson; a brother, Jim Earl Rash; and a sister, Minnie Eakes.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Schepers of Tallulah; one sister, Dot Tarver of Tallulah; and two granddaughters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Blair Parker, Bobby Parker, Jim Brown, Gary Gunn, Jackie Eakes, Monty Busby, Freddy Morgan and Steven Holmes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shea Arender, Ricky Matthews, Tony Harvey, Clement Dahlhauser, Elmer Schepers Sr., Carl Williamson, Clay Morgan, Billy Ray Arender, Wade Hargrave, Lynn Holmes, Todd McBroom and Donald Wayne Arender.
