Patricia Ann Martin

Patricia Ann Martin died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at River Region West Campus. She was 77.

A lifelong resident of Redwood, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Asha Laura Burgess Everett. She worked for the Department of Public Welfare and served as a substitute teacher and library assistant at Redwood Elementary. She had also worked for Kings Elementary for five years.

She was a life member of the Women’s Bowling Association and a member of Redwood United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Martin Sr., and a brother, Robert Lee Everett Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Ernest Martin and Harry L. Martin Jr., both of Redwood; and nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Barbara O. Hite of Redwood United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Thursday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Martin, Trey Martin, Wesley Whitaker, Brian Parker, J.J. Russum and Todd Barwick.

Memorials may be made to Redwood United Methodist Church Building Fund, 101 Redwood Road, Redwood, MS 39156.

Jessie Marie Sibley Stroot

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A memorial service for Jessie Marie Sibley Stroot will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Berachah Church of Vicksburg.

Mrs. Stroot died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, in St. Louis, Mo. She was 59.

A Vicksburg native, she was a resident of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Elbert Sibley.

She is survived by her husband, Gary R. Stroot; two daughters, Angie Farley and Stephanie Douglas; her mother, Susie Sibley; four sisters, Jewel Graham, Mary Ann Mathes, Peggy Nezat and Susie Pettway; five brothers, Wayne Sibley, H.C. Sibley, Charles Sibley, Robert Sibley and Jesse Sibley; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
