Janet W. Champagne
Services for Janet W. Champagne will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Bourg, La.
Mrs. Champagne died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at Promise Speciality Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 71.
Born in Terry, Mrs. Champagne had been a resident of Bourg, for the past 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Will and Neuyall Whittington.
Mrs. Champagne was preceded in death by her husband, Laddis Champagne; and a granddaughter, Corie Leah Pierce.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Champagne of Vicksburg; two sons, Laddis Paul Champagne and Robert “Bob” Champagne, both of Bourg; two sisters, Alice Virginia Burkett of Terry and Ida Gladys Hollingsworth of Utica; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jack C. Garner
Jack C. Garner died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, in Jackson. He was 88.
Born in Brownsville, Miss., Mr. Garner had been a resident of Vicksburg and Edwards most of his life. He was the son of the late Henry Clayton Garner and Minnie Holderfield Garner. He was a retired accountant with the U.S. Government Waterways Experiment Station and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Mazie Battalio Garner; a sister, Melinda Harrell; and seven brothers, Cecil Garner, Russell Garner, Henry Garner, Joseph Garner, Claude Garner, Oscar Garner and Arthur Garner.
He is survived by a son, Jack N. Garner and his wife, Rosalie Turcotte Garner, both of Oxford; three grandchildren, Paul N. Garner and Leigh Garner, both of Oxford, and Andrew Garner and his wife, Johnna N. Garner, both of Atlanta; one great-granddaughter, Megan Young of Oxford; one brother, Ray Garner of Nesbit, Miss.; and a special friend, Velma Bacot of Jackson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Farrell, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 until 4 p.m. at Riles Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Garner, Andrew Garner, Wesley Garner, Harry Garner, Russell H. Garner Jr., Randy Turcotte, Roy Turcotte and Philip Little.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Willie Johnson
PATTISON – Willie Johnson died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at his home. He was 77.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mattie Johnson; his wife, Christine Johnson; and two daughters, Loretta Young and Linda Faye Johnson.
He is survived by six daughters, Willie Ruth Young of Milwaukee, Johnnie M. Rockingham and Evelyn West, both of Port Gibson, Anita Johnson and Brenda Storks, both of Jackson, and Mary J. Ashmore of Clinton; five sons, Lawrence Young Sr. and Larry Hendrick, both of Port Gibson, James Johnson of Vicksburg, Willie L. Johnson of Milwaukee and Travis Johnson of Tupelo; a sister, Edith Hall of Chicago; 46 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including Debbie Sue Nash of Port Gibson.
Services for Mr. Johnson will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Forrest Grove Christian Church in Pattison with the Rev. Joseph Travis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. today and from noon until the service Monday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Martha Martin Klaus
Martha Martin Klaus died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 69.
Born in Yazoo County, Mrs. Klaus had lived in Vicksburg for 33 years. She was a homemaker, hunter and fisherman. Mrs. Klaus was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Phoenix, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents V.C. and Lurline White Martin; two brothers, Harold Martin and Hugh Martin.
Mrs. Klaus is survived by her husband, Sylvain W. Klaus of Vicksburg; three sons, Wade A. Selby of Baton Rouge, Lee M. Selby of Greenville and Brian S. Selby of Puerto Rico; one daughter, Dr. Marion Klaus of Salt Lake, Utah; three brothers, V.O. Martin of Vicksburg, L.H. Martin of Satartia and Bill Martin of Phoenix; and one sister, Dorothy Brown of Vicksburg.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Rhodes, John Knight, Ken Klaus, David Peterson, Randell Eubanks and Robert Fairies.
Services for Mrs. Klaus will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with burial at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

George Thomas McBroom
WINNSBORO, La. – George Thomas McBroom died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005. He was 78.
Mr. McBroom lived in Baskin and was a retired logger.
Services for Mr. McBroom will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be at McBroom Cemetery in Baskin.
Emma McGee
Emma McGee died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 90.
Mrs. McGee was a member of Second Union Baptist Church in Utica.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Essix McGee; and her parents, John and Fannie Neal; six sons; and two daughters.
Mrs. McGee is survived by six sons; Robert Neal of Houghton, Fla., Charlie McClendon of Tupelo, Miss., Eddie McClendon and John McClendon of Vicksburg, Theodore McClendon of Los Angeles, Calif. and Frank McClendon of Utah; two daughters, Dorothy A. McClendon of Vicksburg and Diane Ford of Kosciusko, Miss.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
James Alexander Tate
Services for James Alexander Tate will be at 2 p.m. today at Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Tate died on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 100.
A native of West, Miss., Mr. Tate was an accountant and farmer. He graduated from Bowling Green University, now Western Kentucky University, with a degree in accounting. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Whitehead of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Sabrina Carrick and Jennifer Williamson, both of Vicksburg; two great-grandchildren, Skyler Williamson and Blake Smith.
