Vicksburg’s Price brothers teamed up to do a number on Dutchtown Friday.

Steven Price struck out seven in a complete-game two-hitter, and younger brother Stanton backed him with a solo homer and four RBIs as the Gators won 7-0 in the Ouachita tournament.

Steven Price also had a single and a double to help his own cause. Gerald Mims doubled for Vicksburg (12-4) and Heath Daigre hit a three-run homer.

Later in the day, Vicksburg managed only one hit and lost to Louisiana power Barbe, 11-1. Grant Derouen hit a grand slam during an 11-run first inning for Barbe. The rally included four walks and two hit batters.

Evangel 4, WC 3

Warren Central was hit with a case of deja vu against Evangel.

The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, handing WC its second straight loss in the Ouachita tournament. On Thursday, the Vikings lost to West Monroe when the Rebels scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Eric Douglas doubled and scored a run for WC (10-4), Jonathan Ettinger scored two runs and Ryan Grey had an RBI. Zach Balthrop scattered six hits and three walks in six strong innings, but took the loss when Evangel used a series of bunts, infield hits and hard grounders to take the lead.

PCA 10, Washington 8

Hayden Hales’ two-run, two-out homer in the top of the sixth inning gave Porters Chapel a win over Academy-AAA Washington School.

Freshman Matt Cranfield came on in relief and threw four shutout innings to earn the win for PCA. He struck out five and allowed one walk and two hits during his stint on the hill.

Brady Towne went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Dan Ivey doubled for PCA. Moose Carney tied the game at 8-8 with a three-run homer in the fifth, then set up Hales’ game-winner with a great at-bat in the sixth.

With two outs, Carney fell behind in the count 0-2 before working a walk. Hales followed with his blast to center to give the Eagles the lead for good.

PCA 6, Bayou Academy 3

Chris Mixon hit a grand slam to key a five-run third inning and send PCA (8-2) past Bayou Academy. Carney went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, and Judd Mims was 3-for-5. Ivey also contributed an RBI single for the Eagles.
