Roosevelt Coleman Jr.
EDWARDS – Roosevelt Coleman Jr. died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at his home in Edwards. He was 62.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Mary G. Hill
Mary G. “Ma Mae” Hill died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 87.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Deuce Green and Leanna Powell Smith; and two brothers, Tommy Green and Jessie Green.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Currie and Ethel Lee Bryant, both of Vicksburg; one sister, Mary Lee Powell of Bolton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Linda Clark.

Robert James McCrillis
MOUNT OLIVE – Services for Robert James “Creel” McCrillis were Monday at 2 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. McCrillis died Friday, March 25, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 62.
Mr. McCrillis was a retired merchant.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert James McCrillis Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Lee McCrillis of Wesson; two sons, Sean Buitt of Madison and Robert Vardaman McCrillis of Tupelo; one daughter, Michelle Roberts of Mount Olive; two brothers, Billy McCrillis of California and Joe McCrillis of Terry; one sister, Jennie Walsh of Flint, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
Betty Louise Price
Betty Louise Price died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Kenner Regional Medical Center in Kenner, La. She was 59.
A Vicksburg resident, Mrs. Price retired from teaching in the Warren County Schools. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Bovina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Price and Rosa Louise Price; a son, Gary Allen Reddix; one sister, Lillie Mae Price Pickens; and two brothers, William Price Jr. and Albert Price.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Reddix Jr. of Temple, Texas, and Rodney Reddix of LaPlace, La.; a sister, Erma Belton of Jackson; four brothers, Willie Price and Theodore Price, both of Vicksburg, Joe Price of Chicago and George Price of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Fred Patton Pullen
EDWARDS – Fred Patton “Pat” Pullen died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 62.
Mr. Pullen was born in Hinds County to the late Benjamin Smith Pullen and Marjorie Rae Phillips Pullen. He was reared in Georgetown and moved to Edwards, where he had lived for 34 years.
He was a welder at Cal-Maine Foods Inc. for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Reba J. Pullen of Edwards; two sons, Thomas A. Pullen of Edwards and Pat Pullen Jr. of Delta, La.; one daughter, Janice J. Watkins of Vicksburg; a sister, Virginia Ray Saulters of Collins; a brother, Benjamin K. Pullen III of Decatur, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wright & Ferguson Chapel in Raymond. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 until 7 tonight and from 1 p.m. Thursday until the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Mid-Mississippi Chapter.
William J. Thigpen Jr.
REDWOOD – William J. Thigpen Jr. died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. He was 68.
Born in Tallulah, Mr. Thigpen had been a resident of Redwood since 1967. He was the manager of Valley Park Elevator and had been a member of the Board of Directors from 1967 until present. He also had a trucking and farming business from 1970 until present.
Mr. Thigpen was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and Valley Park Baptist Church. He was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Thigpen Sr.; a son, Thomas Stanley Thigpen; a grandson, Harry Wesley Thigpen; and one brother, Pooler Gene Thigpen.
Survivors include three sons, Edward “Pee Wee” Thigpen of Vicksburg, Bill Thigpen of Redwood and Sam Thigpen of Clinton; his mother, Bernice Phillips of Tallulah; two sisters, Delia Trichell of Tallulah and Patricia Anne Wilhite of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, Arthur Thigpen of Tallulah and Dexter Phillips of Alexandria, La.; a special friend, Rae Saget of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Eddie Thigpen and Britt Thigpen, both of Vicksburg, Jennings Thigpen of Memphis and Addison Thigpen of Clinton; one great-grandchild, Will Thigpen of Vicksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Ensign officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Trichell, Dewayne Trichell, Cal Trichell, Kenny Wilhite, Ronnie Wilhite, Steve Wilhite, Eddie Thigpen, Britt Thigpen and Michael Thigpen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Newell Simrall, C.P. Clay, Jimmy Vessell, Mike Chaney, Gerald Fry, John Byram, Johnny Goss and Buddy Hardy.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Mississippi Lung Association.
Leon Thomas Jr.
Services for Leon Thomas Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove M.B. Church.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
Mr. Thomas died Saturday, March 26, 2005, in Jackson. He was 41.
Mr. Thomas graduated from Warren Central High School and was a military veteran. He was a deacon at Welcome Baptist Church in Utica.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Thomas, and his grandmothers, Sylvia Thomas and Maggie Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Thomas of Jackson; a daughter, Alyssia Thomas of Jackson; his parents, Leon and Cellastine Thomas of Vicksburg; one sister, Veronica Thomas of Vicksburg; five brothers, Robert Thomas and Charles Thomas, both of Vicksburg, David Thomas of Baton Rouge, Reginald Thomas of Las Vegas and Joe Thomas of Peoria, Ill.; and other relatives.
Mary Louise Thomas Truitt
PORT GIBSON – Mary Louise Thomas Truitt died Friday, March 25, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 48.
Mrs. Truitt was a member of Pine Grove Christian Church. She was employed with Entergy at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station as a senior associate financial analyst for almost 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, John L. Thomas; a sister, Rosie B. McClure; and a brother, Dewayne W. Thomas.
She is survived by her husband, James Truitt of Port Gibson; four sons, Kelvin Thomas of Jackson and James Thomas, Marcus Truitt and Karlos Truitt, all of Port Gibson; a stepson, Demetrice Claiborne of Port Gibson; her mother, Willie Mae Thomas of Port Gibson; three sisters, Angela M. Frazier of Milwaukee, Wis., Lorraine Thomas of Brookhaven and Jacqueline Walls-Berry of Port Gibson; three brothers, Otis Walls and Andrew Walls, both of Port Gibson, and Alfred W. Thomas of Memphis; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Issac Wells and Johnnie Rockingham, both of Port Gibson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with Elder James Devine of Vicksburg officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank McGriggs. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
