Dot Melton
Dot Melton died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2005, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 55.
Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Melton had been a Vicksburg resident most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Catherine Gladwell; a sister, Mary Dunlap; and three brothers, Charles Gladwell, Jimmy Gladwell and Eugene Gladwell.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Melton of Vicksburg; two daughters, Lee Seid of Baldwyn and Alice Bell of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Lois Martin of Redwood and Sandy Pettway of Vicksburg; two stepsons, Jimmy Melton and David Melton, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Robert Gladwell and Willie Gladwell Sr., both of Vicksburg, and William Cade of Port Gibson; four sisters, Shirley Stephens, Betty Hunter and Jo Dampier, all of Vicksburg, and Nell Bunch of Benoit; four grandchildren; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Goodrum Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Jason Bell, Dennis Seid, Tim Perry, Edward Gladwell, Jimmy Gladwell Jr., Jamie Bunch and Terry Lee.

Harold S. Mustin Jr.
BENTON, La. – Harold S. Mustin Jr., age 61, passed away Oct. 3, 2005. Memorial services will be held today, Oct. 8, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Benton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Malone and the Rev. Cheryl Nelson officiating.
Harold attended Murrah High School and Mississippi State University. He worked for New York Life in financial services for 15 years where he was a past agent of the year. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and archived Chairman’s Council member for 10 consecutive years. He worked for MetLife until his death. He loved all sports, especially football. He was passionate for duplicate bridge and a member of the local ACBL unit and earned the rank of Life Master.
Harold’s last thoughts and prayers were for his clients, friends and family. He was constantly striving to insure their future and well being.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Mustin; beloved dogs, Jazzy Girl, Mai Cho and Tylei; sons, Harold S. ”Beaux“ Mustin III and wife Lauren of Harahan, La., and Brian Mustin and wife Lori of Houma, La.; daughters, Wendi Hedges and husband John of Mandeville, La., Carrie Fontan and husband Jean Paul of Atlanta, Ga.; stepdaughter Ann Nicolle Ritzenthaler and Ryan Cooper of Palmetto, Fla.; stepson John Ritzenthaler and wife Deniz of Sarasota, Fla.; mother Loyd Mustin of Jackson, Miss.; and sister Ann McCarley and husband Bobby of Vicksburg.
The family would like to thank North West Hospice and Dr. John Brady and staff for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benton United Methodist Church building fund, ACBL Education Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
Mike Roach
Mike Roach died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at his home. He was 88.
Mr. Roach was a native of Lake Charles, La., and had been a resident of St. Bernard Parish, La., for the past 46 years. He retired from St. Bernard Parish Government in 2001. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Guillory Roach, and a daughter, Susan Roach.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Quebodeaux of Lafayette, La., and Diana Roach Keys of Vicksburg; one son, Michael Anthony Roach of Vicksburg; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Covington, La.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Riles Funeral Home with Rosary at 6:30.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.
Patricia Ann Smith
Patricia Ann Smith died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 46.
Mrs. Smith was a 1976 graduate of Port Gibson High School. She had been a Vicksburg homemaker for the past 11 years and was a member of Porters Chapel M.B. Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Smith Jr.; one daughter, Leontine Trevillion; one stepson, Deowarski McDonald; her mother, Annie Lee Trevillion; and one brother, Henry Trevillion, all of Vicksburg; five sisters, Doretha Trevillion Jenkins and Margie Trevillion, both of Jackson; Joann Gray and Sadie Mae Jones, both of Omaha, Neb.; and Mary Kiper of Compton, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
