During the first 20 minutes of their brief practice Monday, Warren Central turned the layup line into an impromptu slam dunk contest, then worked on alley-oop passes.
When things are going as well as they have for the Vikings this summer, what else is there to work on except showmanship?
Warren Central entered Monday night’s games with a 16-0 record. A win over Murrah on Monday was followed by the team’s first loss of the year, a setback to Clinton.
The Vikings have run roughshod over the Metro League – a conference that includes summer teams from nearly 20 schools – and have blowout wins over Class 5A champion Murrah and Class 4A runner-up Jim Hill to their credit.
“The thing that has us clicking this summer is our eight, nine and 10 guys,” WC coach Jesse Johnson said, referring to his deep bench. “It’s Jula Pugh, Rodney Wince and Shon
