Roy Rose Gerrard
CARY – Roy Rose Gerrard, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg.
A graduate of Cary High School, Mr. Gerrard worked at M. Grundfest until 1968, then owned and operated Roy’s Inc. and Margie’s Inc. until his death.
He was a member of Goodman Memorial United Methodist Church in Cary and had served and chaired various committees.
As Master Mason, he served as Worshipful Master of the Rolling Fork Lodge.
Mr. Gerrard also served on the Sharkey County School Board and the Mississippi State School Board Association for a number of years.
Mr. Gerrard was an avid sports fan and a faithful supporter of Delta State University Women’s Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Gerrard, and his sister, Jennie Gerrard.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Ryals Gerrard of Cary; daughter, Lynette West of Clarksdale; brother, William Gerrard; and two grandchildren, Anna West Zemek of Bruce and Frederick West of Monroe, La.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 28, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Goodman Memorial United Methodist Church in Cary with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. Burial will be immediately after at the Cary Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to Cary Christian Center, Goodman Memorial United Methodist Church or Delta State University Women’s Basketball Scholarship Fund.
Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Freddie L. Hall
Freddie L. Hall died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 47.
Mr. Hall was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Thomas.
He is survived by a daughter, Danielle Craig of Vicksburg; his mother, Natalie Hall of Vicksburg; one brother, Jerry Hall of Vicksburg; four sisters, Patricia DeShazer, Lorraine Devine, Denise Peters and Debra Hall, all of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Strong and Thomas families.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Myrtle Louise Jackson
Services for Myrtle Louise Jackson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service.
Mrs. Jackson died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 76.
A homemaker, Mrs. Jackson was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred B. Cosey and Mildred Topps Cosey; a sister, Ethel Kline; and a brother, George Cosey.
She is survived by her husband, Lucious Jackson; two daughters, Toni Kyles of Chicago and Donise Jackson of Vicksburg; two sons, Carl Jackson of Cincinnati and Michael J. Jackson of Vicksburg; a grandson she reared, Michael C. Jackson; two brothers, Leon Cosey of Las Vegas and Frank Cosey of Vicksburg; two sisters, Marla Scott of Vicksburg and Barbara Turner of Chicago; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Delilah Jordan
Services for Delilah Jordan will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Dellie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service.
Mrs. Jordan died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Jordan retired from Dade County School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred D. Sanders Sr. and Louisa Lacy Sanders; her husband, Charlie Jordan; and one daughter, Louisa Chancellor.
Survivors include one son, Isiah Charleston of Vicksburg; three sisters, Elizabeth Sanders of Vicksburg, Tethel Bridge of Merrillville, Ind., and Ruth Simpkin of Miami; one brother, Fred Sanders Jr. of Merrillville; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and other relatives, including members of the Lacy, Sanders and Evans families.
