Howard W. Kelsey Jr.
Howard W. Kelsey Jr. died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 76.
Mr. Kelsey was a native of Norwich, Conn. He lived in Chaplin, Conn., for 23 years and had been a Vicksburg resident since 1991.
He was supervisor for Eastern Connecticut State College for 11 years and retired from the Coast Guard after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Kelsey Kindard Organization. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Margaret Muirhead Kelsey, and his parents, Howard W. Jr. and Theresa Bergman Kelsey.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Butts Kelsey of Vicksburg; two daughters, Linda A. Marceau of Deltona, Fla., and Robin A. DeMarchi of Murray, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Charlene Senn of Carlton and Karen Burrell of Yazoo City; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ben Burrell, Don Senn, Archie Cain, Ray Burrell, Chris Steed and Dee Steed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Martin M. Newcomb, Dr. David A. Wahl and the staff of The Cancer Clinic.

Margaret Ann Lawler League
ROLLING FORK Margaret Ann Lawler League died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital. She was 65.
Mrs. League was born in Mayersville and had been a Sharkey County resident most of her life. She retired from Farm Service Agency after 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Tatum Lawler and Eva Pearl Holcomb Lawler; a daughter, Darla Leigh Duncan; and a brother, Fred “Freddie” Herman.
She is survived by one son, Dave Duncan of Rolling Fork; one daughter, Dana Kay Burke of Smithfield, Pa.; four brothers, Herbert Herman of Mayersville, Jimmy Herman of Grace, Arthur “Bubba” Lawler of Lake Washington and Harold “Dody” Herman of Slidell, La.; two sisters, Pearl Massey of Vicksburg and Wand Gore of Rolling Fork; and two grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Sharon Chapel Assembly of God with the Rev. Jerry Paul Edwards officiating. Burial followed at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Julia M. McGloster
PORT GIBSON Julia M. McGloster died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 51.
Mrs. McGloster was a native of Claiborne County and a member of Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Annie M. Woods McGloster, and a brother, Lewis Johnson.
She is survived by a son, Jerrold McGloster of Port Gibson; a daughter, Deidre W. McGloster of Port Gibson; nine brothers, Percy McGloster, Jonathan McGloster, Donald McGloster, Joseph McGloster and Bobby McGloster, all of Port Gibson, Samuel McGloster Jr. and Herbert McGloster, both of New York, and Carl Lee McGloster and Harris McGloster, both of South Carolina; six sisters, Margaret Good and Sammie L. Good, both of Port Gibson, Katie L. Anderson of Natchez, Mildred Williams of New Orleans, Geraldine McGloster of St. Louis, Mo., and Gloria Ruth Maysonet of New York, N.Y.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Terry E. Kelly and Waymond Brown Jr., both of Port Gibson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Thursday at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Marie T. Nasif Nosser
Marie T. Nasif Nosser died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.
A Meridian native, Mrs. Nosser had been a Vicksburg resident most of her life. She was a 1941 graduate of Carr Central High School.
With her husband, she co-founded The Glass Kitchen restaurant in 1944, operating it until 1983. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of St. George.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Joseph Nosser Sr., and her parents, Milid Ameen and Mamie Hajj Nasif.
Survivors include a son, Fred J. Nosser Jr. of Vicksburg; four sisters, Gloria Nasif Kennedy and JoAnn Nasif Roland, both of Vicksburg, Lillian Nasif Johnson of Dallas and Jeanette Nasif McCann of League City, Texas; a brother, George M. Nasif Sr. of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with the Very Rev. John Morris, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home with Trisagion Prayers at 7.
Pallbearers will be David Bone, George M. Nasif Jr., Gregory M. Nasif, Donald “Butch” Nasif, Bill Kinstley, Anthony Kinstley, Keith Kinstley, Albert “Dobie” Nosser, Johnny Nosser and Larry Nosser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Nathaniel Lawson, J.J. Kight, Diane Dent, Viola Candi, the ladies of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and the fifth-floor nursing staff of River Region Medical Center.
