Lynne Hicks
Lynne “Bingo Buddy” Hicks died Monday, June 13, 2005, at her home. She was 39.
Born in California, Mrs. Hicks had been a Vicksburg resident since 1985. Her hobbies were bingo and fishing. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her parents, Bob and Janice Hicks of Vicksburg; her mother, Eva Hayden of Biloxi; two brothers, James Hicks of Vicksburg and Robert Hicks of Biloxi; four sisters, Glynda Hicks and Cindy Hicks, both of Vicksburg, and Kathy Webb and Latisha Wisniewski, both of Biloxi; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shay Redditt, Claude Bagby, David Connerly, Kenneth Davenport, Brad Campbell and Dennis Wisniewski.
Robert Earl Raney Sr.
Robert Earl “Runt” Raney Sr. died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 78.
Mr. Raney was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was self-employed as a carpenter for 20 years. He was employed with Palmer Mobile Home for 10 years and Magnolia Mobile Home for 20 years as a cabinet builder. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary H. Hampton Raney; his parents, Samuel Francis and Alma Lou Pettway Raney; four brothers, William H. Raney, John Buford Raney, Welbur Raney and James H. Raney; and two sisters, Sally Emfinger and Annie Lum.
Survivors include his wife, Freddie Farnham Raney of Jackson; three sons, William “Billy” Raney of Port Gibson and Robert E. “Bobby” Raney and John Harold Raney, both of Vicksburg; two stepsons, Joe Farnham and Sean Farnham, both of Jackson; one daughter, Diane Louise Cook of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Debbie Fallien and Vicky Fitzpatrick, both of Jackson; one brother, Victor Raney of Texarkana, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Danny Chester, Brody Cook, Randy Cook Jr., James Walter Raney, Herschel Raney and Dennis Raney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Raney, Robby Raney, Mike Carpenter, Ryan Raney, Jimmy Raney and James Chester.
Services will be at 2 today at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with Burt Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ridgeway Baptist Church, 4669 Redwood Road, Vicksburg, MS 39183.
