Charles Lee Aikerson Sr.
Charles Lee Aikerson Sr. died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 62.
Mr. Aikerson was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church in Bovina. He retired from Roadway Express in Chicago Heights, Ill., as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Aikerson of Bovina; three sons, Charles Lee Aikerson Jr. and Keith Aikerson, both of Chicago, and Vincent Aikerson of Iraq; four brothers, George Aikerson Jr. of Crystal Springs, Floyd Aikerson of Lorman, Anderson Aikerson of Bessemer, Ala., and Marvin Aikerson of Aurora, Ill.; one sister, Beatrice Ruffin of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Lakeview Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Carrie Collins
Carrie Collins died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at The Care Center of Clinton. She was 99.
Mrs. Collins was a retired nurse and homemaker. She was a member of New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church, where she served on the mother board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Collins; her mother, Margaret Green; two brothers, Albert Green Sr. and Charlie Green; two sisters, Ella Anderson and Corine Green.
She is survived by one nephew, Charles “Charlie” Green of Jackson; and other relatives.

Elizabeth Linda Disharoon
DALLAS – Elizabeth Linda Disharoon died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Medical Cities Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She was 57.
Ms. Disharoon was born on Dec. 17, 1947, in Japan. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a captain of the Dixie Darlings. She worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airl Lnes.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Lindsay Disharoon Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Sara S. McNeil of Port Gibson; two brothers, James D. Disharoon of Jackson and Ron McNeil of Port Gibson; and other nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Juanita Dunn Horne
SEA SIDE, Calif. – Juanita Dunn Horne died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, in Sea Side, Calif. She was 73.
Mrs. Horne was born in Slidell and moved to Vicksburg, where she was reared in the Eagle Lake community. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Sea Side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dunn; one brother, Ben Dunn Jr.; one son, Joseph C. Horne; one stepdaughter, Alean Horne Johnson; and one stepson, Benard “Ben” Horne Jr.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Dunn of Seaside; two daughters, Janice Myles and JoAnn Horne, both of Sea Side; two sisters, Martha Dunn and Ruby Dunn, both of Chicago; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives including the Horne, Bradford, Phillips, Dunn and Coleman families, all of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 this evening at Chapel of Seaside Mortuary in Sea Side.
James Franklin Green
James Franklin Green died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 67.
Mr. Green was born on Feb. 14, 1938, in High Point, N.C. to Viola Wheeler Green and Noah Kenneth Green. Mr. Green worked as a government systems analyst before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bell Green of Vicksburg; one son, Shawn Evans Green and wife, Seveta, of Huntsville, Ala.; one daughter, Misty Lee Green of Alabama; three stepchildren, Lisa and husband, Charlie Langford of Vicksburg, Jay and wife, Vivian Ramsey, of Long Beach, Miss., and Key and wife, Rose Ramsey, of Madison, Miss.; three grandchildren, Joel Langford, Chaz Ramsey and Chandler Ramsey; three brothers, Ernest Green of Evansville, Ind., Darcy Green and Norman Green, both of High Point, N.C.; one sister, Nancy Rhodes of United Arab Emirates; and two half-brothers, Wallace Green and Rudolf Green, both of Sacramento, Calif.
His body was donated to the University of Mississippi.

J.D. Jobe
J.D. Jobe died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 76.
Mr. Jobe was a native of Willow, Miss., and had lived in Vicksburg. He was a seaman for a steamship for 46 years. He was a member of Warrenton Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson Davis Jobe Sr. and Jessie Jobe Sawyer; one daughter, Gail Neal; and one brother, Willie Jobe.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jobe of Vicksburg; one daughter, Fay Neihaus of Vicksburg; three sons, Jeff Jobe, Dave Jobe and Terry Jobe, all of Vicksburg; one brother, Robert Jobe of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Helen Maxey of Hernando, Miss., and Katherine Long of Vicksburg; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services were at 11 today at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Les Ferguson officiating. Burial was at Floyd Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eric Neal, Carl Neihaus, Shaun Neihaus, Bryan Neihaus, Joshua Neihaus, Jason Jobe, Corey Jobe and Blake Jobe.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Wilson, Lonnie Wilson and Robert Crow.

Jeff Johnson
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Jeff Johnson died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, in Augusta, Ga. He was 89.
Mr. Johnson was born in Rocky Springs. He was employed as a welder with Atlas Tank Company in Vicksburg.
He was a former member and deacon of St. Peter M.B. Church and member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Will Johnson, Leroy Johnson and Jim Johnson; and one sister, Sadie Johnson.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Johnson, Johnny Johnson and Jesse Johnson, all of Los Angeles; one stepson, Johnny Nailor Jr. of Augusta; one daughter, Geanetta Johnson of Los Angeles; one brother, Russell Johnson of Jackson; 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Herman Tate Jr.
Herman Tate Jr. died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 49.
Mr. Tate was a former resident of Cary and lived in Vicksburg.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy P. Tate; one son, Kevin Knight of Valparaiso, Ind.; two daughters, Tabitha Tate of Vicksburg and Kenyetta Reeves of Las Vegas; three brothers, Donald Tate of Cary, Robert Brown Jr. of Memphis and Nicholaus Jones of Jackson; three sisters, Juanita Tate of Cary, Linda Tate Smith of Vicksburg and Irma T. Shelby of Rolling Fork; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Guiding Star Church in Cary. Burial was at Green Chapel Cemetery in Cary under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
