Janie H. Stuart died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 65.
Born in Valley Park, Miss., she was a longtime resident of Fitler, Miss. She attended Redwood Elementary School and Cary High School.
Mrs. Stuart was a former member of the Issaquena County Home Demonstration Club and a member of the Goodman Memorial United Methodist Church in Cary.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Columbus Stuart; her parents, Robert Lee Hays and Emma Viola Taylor Hays; and a brother, Murray Hays.
She is survived by her husband, Frank P. Stuart Sr. of Fitler; a daughter, Janet S. Whitfield and husband, Jim, of Indianola; a son, Frank P. Stuart Jr. and wife, Beth, of Cary; three grandsons, Marty Stuart, Nick Stuart and Jay Whitfield; three sisters, Wilma Davenport, Rosa Braxton and Madeline Dove; and three brothers, Harold Hays, Bill Hays and William “Bubbie” Hays.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Frank Lescallette officiating. Burial will be at Clover Hill Cemetery in Fitler.
Visitation will be from noon Tuesday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Morris Stuart, Heath Stuart, Marty Stuart, Nick Stuart, Jay Woods, Randy Darden, Stan Delaney and Jay Whitfield.
