Anthony J. Davidson.
SANFORD, Fla. – Memorial services for Anthony J. “Tony” Davidson will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew’s Chapel, 514 Walden View Drie in Sanford, 407-328-1139. A graveside service in Vicksburg will be later.
Mr. Davidson died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. He was 54.
He was born in Vicksburg and, in 1984, moved to Sanford, where he established a jewelry business with his wife. They owned A&D and Associates at the Sanford Flea Market for 25 years before establishing an Internet business.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Arazny Davidson; his mother, Willie Mae Davidson; his father, Robert E. Davidson; and his sister, Terri Robin Davidson of Brandon, Miss.
Memorials may be made to the Davidson Financial Assistance Fund at St. Andrew’s Chapel.
Jimmie J. Franks Sr.
EDWARDS – Jimmie J. “J.J.” Franks Sr. died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at his home in Edwards. He was 83.
Mr. Franks was a native of DeRidder, La. He made his home in Ferriday, La., Austin, Texas, and Clayton, La., before moving to Edwards in 1996.
Having served in the U.S. Army, Mr. Franks was a World War II Veteran and a self-employed carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, in 1996; and two sons, Roger Franks in 2003, and Jimmie J. Franks Jr. in 1978.
He is survived by two nephews, Bo Franks of Smithville, Texas, and Nathan Randall of Edwards; a niece, Samantha Franks of Austin; three daughters, Alexandra Denae Whittlesey and Buttons Randall, both of Sicily Island, La., and Debbie Huffman and husband, Eddie Joe, of Clayton; three grandchildren, Brandi J. Whittlesey-Stapp of Arnold, Mo., Daniel J. Whittlesey-Stapp and Eddie R. Whittlesey-Stapp, both of Clayton; a great-granddaughter, Lea Danielle Franks Floyd of Monroe, La.; and a longtime companion, Annie LeJune of Edwards.
Pallbearers will be Daniel J. Whittlesey-Stapp III, Nathan Randall, Curtis Huffman, John Stanley, Stevie Stanley and Wilbert Thompson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Threeton officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Andrew Horton Sr.
GLOSTER – Andrew Horton Sr. died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Louisiana State Veterans Home in Jackson, La. He was 79.
He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Gloster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Estella Horton; one sister, Louise H. Winfield; and two brothers, David H. Horton and Johnny Horton Jr.
Survivors include four sisters, Marie H. Pierce of Vicksburg, Helen Horton and Margie Akins, both of Baton Rouge, and Mary Wilson of Gloster; 10 children; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Macedonia Baptist Church under the direction of Wells Mortuary of Woodville.
Kevin Thomas.
POTTSBORO, Texas – Kevin Thomas died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at his home in Pottsboro, Texas. He was 41.
Born in San Gabriel, Calif., Kevin was born to Francis Farrell and Patricia Ann Tanner Thomas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and rock climbing. He worked at Texas Instruments (TI) for 20 years as an engineer technician.
He married Laura Jane Anderson on May 16, 1996, in Durant, Okla.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teri.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brandon Anderson of McAlester, Okla.; a daughter, Amber Anderson of Pottsboro; his mother, Patricia Thomas of Vicksburg; his grandmother, Edith Tanner of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Fallon Anderson and Laura Anderson, both of McAlester; a niece, Tarrah Shubbert of Colorado; and a nephew, Frankie Shubbert of Virginia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant, Okla. with the Rev. Durel Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Phillips, Scott Thurman, Dean Richardson, Jesse Cope, Mark Crane, Charles Owens, Tommy Sanchez and Dan Meads.

Sanford H. Wood.
ST. JOSEPH – Sanford H. Wood died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 93.
Mr. Wood was born in Dodson, La., and graduated from Louisiana State University, where he was president of the Future Farmers of America. He taught agriculture in Gilbert, La., and worked for the Farm Security Administration in Lake Providence before moving to St. Joseph, where he was a merchant. He was of the Baptist faith and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Wood was president of the Residents Association at Olive Branch Senior Care Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Elizabeth DeMoss Wood; his parents, William and Erie Wood; seven brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Dr. Sanford W. Wood of Eunice, La., and James Wood of Tallulah; three daughters, Emma Corbett of Palm Springs, Calif., Sara Beth Fournet of St. Martinville, La., and Frances Ann Kilpatrick of Shreveport; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Flurry officiating. Burial followed at Gwin Memorial Cemetery in Mangham, La., under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Baptist Church or to the Activities Center of Olive Branch Senior Care.
