Hester Arlene Pinkston Lamon.
CENTER, Texas – Hester Arlene Pinkston Lamon died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at her home in Center. She was 76.
Born in Nachogdoches County to Lester and Mary Beasley Pinkston, Mrs. Lamon was a certified music teacher and licensed real estate broker and appraiser. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, where she played the organ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil Pinkston, Buddy Pinkston, James Pinkston and Clifford Pinkston; and a twin sister, Vester Simmons.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. M. D. Lamon; a daughter, Shirley Goodwin of Center; three sons, Aubrey Lamon of Center, Lester “Don” Lamon of Edwards and Garfield D. Lamon Sr. of Woodville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Norris of Sun City, Fla.; and other relatives, including Donna and Paris Stokes of Vicksburg and Alesha Jeff Hamm of Edwards.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Center with the Revs. M. D. Lamon and Richard Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center.
Pallbearers will be Richard Goodwin, II, Aubrey Lamon, II, Jeff Hamm, Paris Stokes, Garfield D. Lamon, Jr., and Patrick Lamon.
Larry D. Lefteroff.
PORT GIBSON – Larry D. Lefteroff died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 51.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Hermanville. He was a graduate of Chamberlain-Hunt Academy. He was an employee of Entergy Corporation for the past 20 years. He was a member of Hermanville Methodist Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John W. Brewer and Bertha Dillon Brewer; and special uncles, Ed Froman and Louis Choat.
Larry is survived by his wife, Marcia Lefteroff of Hermanville; his sons, Craig Lefteroff of Lexington, Ky., and Kevin Lefteroff of Hermanville; his mother, Corrinne Brewer Hudson of Hermanville; his grandmother, Venet Lefteroff of San Mateo, Calif.; a very special aunt, Dot Froman of Pearl; and the love of his life, his granddaughter, Molly.
Services will be at 2 today at Hermanville Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery under the direction of Guion-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 today at the church.
Pallbearers will be Mike Leeper, Jimmy Clements, Johnny Froman, Tim Hudson, Buddy Howard, Terry Beebe and Avery Baker.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Hermanville Baptist Church or the Hermanville Cemetery Association.
