Seven Warren County residents were arrested on narcotics charges Thursday and arraigned today following months of undercover work.

Sheriff Martin Pace credited citizen reports for initiating the cases, most of which were presented to grand jurors last week.

&#8220It is the result of several months of surveillance and undercover drug purchases in several areas in the south part of the county,” Pace said.

Five of the suspects have already been indicted and were taken into custody based on the formal charges, Pace said. Evidence against another two will be presented to the next term of the grand jury, in October.

The raids came just one week after state and local authorities, in an unrelated operation, took 10 Vicksburg and Warren County residents into custody on drug charges.
