Alex Miller Jr.
Alex “Rex” Miller Jr. died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at his home. He was 54.
Mr. Miller was a member of Pleasant Valley M.B. Church. He was a former employee of Anderson-Tully Co.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Miller Sr.; and two brothers, Joseph Miller and Harry Miller.
Survivors include his mother, Clara Lee Miller of Vicksburg; two sons, Quincy Watson of Vicksburg and Antonio Bland of North Carolina; two daughters, Joshalyn Shells of Vicksburg and Shelia Butler of Houston, Texas; five brothers, Albert Lewis of Saginaw, Mich., Curtis Miller of Magee and David Miller, Kenny Miller and Tyrone Miller, all of Vicksburg; five sisters, Doris Carter, Evelyn Smith, Clara Walker, Deborah Miller and Sarah Ross, all of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and friends and other relatives, including Marshall and T-Ethel Bridge of Maryville, Ind.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Services for Charlie Miller will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Travelers Rest M.B. Church with the Rev. Kemp Burley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Service.
Mr. Miller died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 78.
A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Miller was a former machinist at Genuine Parts Service. He was a member of Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church and American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lester Joe Miller; his parents, Will Miller Sr. and Gertrude Miller; one sister, Mary Miller Branch; and five brothers, Fred Miller, Will Miller Jr., the Rev. J.A. Miller, Arthur James Miller Sr. and Harry Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Miller of Vicksburg; two sons, Charles R. Miller of Vicksburg and Ralph Miller of Jackson; five daughters, Debra Anderson of Jackson and Shirley Straughter, Doris Miller, Linda Lewis and Connie Linzy, all of Vicksburg; two brothers, the Rev. Robert L. Miller and Richard E. Miller, both of Vicksburg; three sisters, Daisy Gibson of Gardena, Calif., Rose Stanfield of Carson, Calif., and Ethel Miller of Long Beach, Calif.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
John Patrick Southerland.
Services for John Patrick Southerland, infant son of Branan and Brooke Southerland of Vicksburg, were today at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Infant Southerland died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at Woman’s Hospital in Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Natalie Southerland of Vicksburg; and his grandparents, Lucy Britton, Marcie Southerland and Pat and Connie Southerland, all of Vicksburg.
Lois L. Thames.
TALLULAH – Lois L. Thames died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at her home near Tallulah. She was 91.
Born in Manghum, La., Mrs. Thames had lived near Madison Parish all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Warsaw Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Thames.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Thames and Robert Thames, both of Tallulah; three daughters, Barbara Averett and Ola Thames, both of Tallulah, and Maxine Thames of Coldwater, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Harper and Dennis Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sharon Chapman, Phillip Bible, Gilbert Tonang, P.R. Chilton, Brian Schaufele and Robert Purvis.
