Virginia Ann Arp.

Virginia Ann &#8220Ginny” Arp died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 47.

Born in Jackson, Mrs. Arp had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 11 years. A graduate of Mississippi College, she attended the University of Mississippi Medical School and was a member of Asbury Congregational Methodist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include her husband, Doug Arp of Vicksburg; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ray Halliburton Sr. of Clinton; a brother, Dr. Ray Halliburton of Baton Rouge; and uncles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edsel Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Josephine Deloris Herron.

KILLEEN, Texas – Services for Josephine Deloris Herron will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. Church, Ballground. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Friday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from noon Saturday until the hour of service at the church.

Mrs. Herron died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, Texas. She was 73.

A former resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Herron was a former associate minister and member of Mount Olive M.B. Church in Redwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Jones and Etta Kemp; and a sister, Vertis Wilson.

Survivors include a son, Jonas Jordan of Lakehurst, N.J.; a daughter, Barbara Haggard of Killeen; two brothers, William Jones of Racine, Wis., and David Jones of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Lou Ella Ragan of Redwood, Florine Tyson and Dorothy Thomas, both of Chicago; five grandchildren; and other relatives, including the Davis and Miller families of Vicksburg.

Mary Kimble.

Mary Kimble died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.

Mrs. Kimble was born in Hollandale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Green and Blanche Collins Green; her husband, Leroy Kimble Sr.; two sons, Jerry Kimble and Leroy Kimble Jr., and a sister, Sadie Green.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Kimble of Fort Knox, Ky., and Troy Kimble of Vicksburg; four daughters, Geraldine Kimble and Elizabeth Burkley, both of Vicksburg, Mary Stephens of Longview, Texas, and Debbie Anderson of Athens, Ga.; two brothers, four sisters, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion No. 1 M.B. Church with the Revs. Larry Brown and Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Fellowship Foundation at Mount Zion No. 1 M.B. Church or Mount Pilgrim Church of Freetown Women’s Auxiliary Organization.

Frances Pauline Bledsoe Morton.

TALLULAH – Frances Pauline Bledsoe Morton died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Olive Branch Nursing Home. She was 85.

Born in Roxton, Texas, Mrs. Morton was a graduate of East Texas State University. A retired home economics teacher, she retired from Tallulah High School after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Tallulah First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Bledsoe Sr.; her husband, Harry Don Morton Sr.; a son, Dr. Shelby Paul Morton; a brother, Shelby Bledsoe Jr.; and two sisters, Nancy Alice Woolridge and Ruth B. Jones.

Survivors include a son, Harry Don Morton Jr. of Vicksburg; a daughter, Judy M. Fortenberry of Tallulah; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. Jean Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Edwin Fortenberry, Mark Hawkins, David Williams, Mike Rabb, Mac Cagnolatti Jr., and Philip Frierson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert &#8220Racer” Holstead, Raymond Jones, Jeff Morton, Herbert Wood and Don Kennon.

Beverly Ann Raney.

ACKERMAN, Miss. – Beverly Ann Raney died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 77.

Born in Compton, Calif., Mrs. Raney was a former resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raney Sr.; and a son, Sammy Raney Sr.

Survivors include three sons, James W. Raney of Ackerman, Ryan H. Raney of Vicksburg and Dennis Raney of Newelton; four daughters, Mary Stephenson and Barbara Bowie, both of Ackerman, Terrie Scull of Maben and Tammie Foster of Bentonia; 24 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Vicksburg with the Rev. Ronnie O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Stephenson, Chris Raney, Sammie Bowie, Jessie Raney, Greg Raney, Buddy Dean Stevens, M.G. Foster and Sammy Raney Jr.
