Barry D. Butler.

UTICA – Barry D. Butler died as a result of a car accident on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006. He was 27.

He was a resident of Utica.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Carrie Milton, and paternal grandparents, Beridetle Butler and Milton Quinn of Gulfport.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Butler of Edwards; his father, Eddie C. Butler of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Deliesha Butler of Utica and Shalexieus Ellis of Fayette; one brother, Broderick Butler of El Paso, Texas; four uncles, Willie Milton of Vicksburg, Eddie Milton Jr. of Edwards, and David and Richard Butler, both of Gulfport; one aunt, Clara Willis of Vicksburg; and his fiance, Yalanda Ellis of Fayette.

He was a graduate of Hinds A.H.S. and was employed with DiMa Homes. He was a member of Spring Ridge M.B. Church of Edwards.

He is also survived by a host of friends and cousins: members of the Burks, Stewart, Knox, Hill, Allen, Scott, Stamps and Kelly families.

Services will be at 12 noon Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at Spring Ridge M.B. Church with the Rev. Philip Burks officiating.

Viewing of the body will be one hour before the services.

Clois Hill.

LEESBURG – Clois Hill died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Hospice in His Hands in Carthage. He was 68.

Mr. Hill was a native and lifelong resident of the Leesburg community in Rankin County. A construction worker, he was a member of Leesburg Baptist Church.

He served in the Marine Corps for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lucy Hill; and five brothers, Bobby Dale Hill, A.L. Hill, Roger Dale Hill, Lois Hill and Wiley Hill.

Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Sorrels and Rebecca Bishop, both of Vicksburg, Wanda Hoover of Leesburg and Michelle Roberts and Ejett Bergeron, both of Hamburg, Ark.; one son, Eddie Hill of Hamburg; two brothers, T.W. Hill and Larry Hill, both of Leesburg; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services were Jan. 23 at Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery with Eddie Pilgrim officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Darrell Sorrels, Michael Sorrels, Joe Roberts, Bon Bergeron, Douglas Bishop and A.C. Harrell Jr.

Johnny Hollis Jr.

TALLULAH – Johnny &#8220Scootie” Hollis Jr. died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at his home in Tallulah. He was 25.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Hollis attended Reuben McCall High School in Tallulah. He was employed with Texas Convenience Stores of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Carson Hollis; and his father, Johnny Hollis Sr.

He is survived by two sisters, Tracy Banks of Edwards and Marcie Hollis of Vicksburg; three brothers, Willie Hayes Jr. of Denver, Michael Hollis of Tallulah and Sam Bunch of Las Vegas; and a niece, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Reuben McCall High School auditorium with Anthony Norwood of Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home in Tallulah.

George Irwin.

Services for George Irwin will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service chapel.

Mr. Irwin died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. He was 87.

Mr. Irwin was born in Vicksburg and lived here most of his life. He had also lived in Chicago for several years. He was a retired painter.

Mr. Irwin was preceded in death by his wife, Asia Buford Irwin; his parents, James and Dilla S. Irwin; three sisters, Atlanta Hicks, Beatrice Fletcher and Dilla Irwin; and five brothers, Albert Irwin, Andrew Irwin, Clarence Irwin, James Irwin and Julius Irwin.

He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Bingham, and a brother, the Rev. Horace Irwin, both of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Shirley Ann Reed.

Shirley Ann Reed died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 41.

A homemaker, Ms. Reed was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura B. Henderson and Thomas S. Henderson.

She is survived by three sons, Alonzo Reed Younger, Charles Earl Reed and Alvin Charles Appleton; and other relatives, including Phlandis Younger of Vicksburg.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Mary Christina Washington.

Services for Mary Christina Washington will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Vicksburg City Auditorium with the Rev. R.L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the auditorium Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service.

Mrs. Washington died Wednesday, Jan. 25,2006, at her home. She was 54.

She was food service manager at Vicksburg Junior High and a member of Holly Grove M.B. Church.

She was a member of the Mississippi Food Service Association and past president of Southern Belle. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics and Camp Silver Cloud.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Lee Washington; two brothers, Alvin I. Washington and Gregory L. Washington; and her paternal grandparents, Eliza McCray and Monroe &#8220Coup” Washington Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Sonya M. Washington and Lakeshia N. Washington; her father, Steve Washington Sr. of Vicksburg; six brothers, Alonzo Anderson, Bennie Washington, Steve Washington Jr., Lee Washington, David Washington and Michael Green; five sisters, Patricia Boykins, Linda Fondren, Gail Stamps, Martha White and Mary Pettis; three grandchildren; and other relatives, including Kione Zimmerman.
