Clyde Burns.
Services for Clyde “Iceman” Burns will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church. Burial will follow at New Zion M.B. Church Cemetery, 8188 Halls Ferry Road.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Williams Funeral Service Chapel.
Mr. Burns died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at River Region Medical Center West Campus. He was 50.
Mr. Burns was a self-employed painter and member of New Zion Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Liza Burns of Vicksburg; his parents, Theodore Raine of Mound Bayou and Hattie Jackson of Homerville, Ga.; his stepfather, Sherman Jackson of Homerville; two sons, Clyde Burns Jr. of Dallas and Eddie Burns of Vicksburg; three daughters, Tiffany Rogers, Shemeka Burns and Teenesha Burns, all of Vicksburg; eight sisters, Jacqueline Vickers and Tricilla D. Parson Galloway, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Jewel Davis of Houston, Texas, Lisa Sullivan and Rose Vaughns, both of Douglasville, Ga., Angela MaGee of Homerville, and Alice Beard and Cassandra Davis, both of Vicksburg; one brother, Lee Davis of Jackson; a stepbrother, Billy Jackson of Jackson; two grandchildren; and other relatives, including Susie Williams.
Josephine Byrd.
PORT GIBSON – Josephine Byrd died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at Claiborne County Nursing Center. She was 85.
Mrs. Byrd was born in Arkansas and was employed in housekeeping. She was the daughter of the late George and Edmonia Byrd.
She is survived by a nephew, Wiley Davis of Port Gibson; a cousin, Roosevelt Byrd of Alabaster, Ala.; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Temple Church of Christ Holiness with the Rev. Michael White officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Margie Hulbert-Moore.
HERMANVILLE – Services for Margie Hulbert-Moore, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Mountro Grove M.B. Church Cemetery in Hermanville. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at the church.
Mrs. Moore died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at her home in Hermanville. She was 54.
Mrs. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church in Hermanville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hattie B. Hulbert; and a brother, James Hulbert Jr.
She is survived by a son, Kelsey Moore of Hermanville; two daughters, Chandra Moore and Shenequa Moore, both of Hermanville; two brothers, Johnny Hulbert of Port Gibson and Aaron Hulbert of Hermanville; two sisters, Katie Hulbert of Hermanville and Vanessa McCarthy of Lakeland, Fla.; an adopted sister, Lizzie Green of Detroit, Mich.; and other relatives, including Frisby Bolton of Jackson.
Paul Willingham Jr.
Paul Willingham Jr. died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at his father’s home. He was 35.
Born in Yazoo City, Mr. Willingham had been a Vicksburg resident since 1991. He was a member of Bowmar Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly W. Willingham.
Survivors include a son, Paul Willingham III of Vicksburg; his father, Paul Willingham Sr. of Vicksburg; and one sister, Shelly Neel of Alexandria, Va.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Church of Christ in Brookhaven with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.
Grace Cunard Wilson.
Grace Cunard Wilson died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.
Born in Collins, Miss Wilson was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. L.W. Wilson. She was a graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She retired in 1973 as a consular affairs officer with the U.S. State Department after 35 years of service. She had been a Vicksburg resident since 1976 and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Wilson Bates; and a brother, George Lyman Wilson.
Survivors include one sister, Susie Wilson Bobb of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Barnes Cemetery in Hot Coffee at a later date. Riles Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Alberta Wright.
PORT GIBSON – Services for Alberta Wright will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson.
Mrs. Wright died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 100.
She was a member of New Come and See M.B. Church.
She is survived by special cousins, Thomas Reed of Jackson and Pearl Bell of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends, including the Howard family of Little Rock, Ark.
