Evelyn M. Mitchell died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in Irving, Texas. She was 94.

Born in Ash Flat, Ark., Mrs. Mitchell was a former resident of Vicksburg and had lived in Irving for the past six years. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe Mullins and Emma Roberts Mullins. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where she received a bachelor of science degree in home economics. Mrs. Mitchell was a former home extension agent and was a teacher at Warren Central High School from 1967 until 1977. She was a past board member of the Community Concert Association and was a member of the Ladies Garden Club.

Mrs. Mitchell was an active member of the Vicksburg Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Mitchell; a sister, Velma Mullins Hines; and five brothers, Cecil Mullins, David Mullins, Troy Mullins, Harlin Mullins and Arthur Mullins.

She is survived by four children, Joan Mitchell Harris of Irving, Keith Mitchell of Katy, Texas, Karen Mitchell Browner of Dallas, Texas, and Barry Mitchell of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Kimberly Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell, Adam Harris, Elizabeth Harris, Jeffrey Browner and Eric Browner; two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Hirsch and Payton Coleman; and two sisters, Violet Mullins Sanders of Huntsville, Ala., and Emma Lou Mullins Neal of Little Rock, Ark.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Gardner officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Carl Finney, Bill Welshans, Dean Caldwell, Wade Hammack, Chesley Nash and Ron Green.

Shirley Ann Naylor.

Shirley Ann Naylor died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 59.

Mrs. Naylor was a member of House of Peace Worship Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Humphries; her parents, James and Lillian Bingham Naylor; and a sister, Sandra Kees.

She is survived by a son, Benjamin Humphries , and a daughter, Pamela M. Humphries, both of Vicksburg; four brothers, Howard Naylor, Randy Naylor, Michael Naylor and John Bingham, all of Vicksburg; eight sisters, Gloria Jean Naylor, Mattie Hill, Gwendolyn Naylor and Margaret Denton, all of Vicksburg, Linda Naylor of Glen Allen, Debra Faye Allen of Bolton, Irene Washington of Greenville and Mary Jenkins of Glen Allen; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and others.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Living Word Baptist Church with the Rev. Linda Sweezer officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
