Dorothy Jean Williams Dameron.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dorothy Jean Williams Dameron died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Md. She was 70.

Born in Edwards, Mrs. Dameron was the daughter of the late Eddie Sr. and Augusta Williams. She attended Hinds County Public Schools.

Employed in the restaurant business for many years, she was a member of the Church of the Great Commission.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Arthur Dameron; and a daughter, Connie Ruth Crump.

She is survived by two sons, Darryl Q. Dameron and Anthony Williams, both of Jackson; a daughter, Wanda S. Dameron; five brothers, O’Neil Williams and Rufus Williams, both of Edwards, Eddie Williams Jr. of Lake Providence, Elder Emmett G. Williams of Vallejo, Calif., and Howard Williams of Richmond, Calif.; two sisters, Shirley Felker of Chicago and Edna Smothers of Vicksburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at United M.B. Church in Edwards under the direction of Bolton Funeral Home.

Ann Hilton.

PEARL – Ann &#8220Cluny” Hilton, 76, died Nov. 6, 2006, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon with burial at Wesleyanna Cemetery.

Sweetie, Momma, Grandma, Ann, Cluny was so much to so many people. She was a gifted nurse, a loving wife and mother and everyone’s best friend.

She loved books and was a lifelong learner but her greatest joy was her family. We all loved her very much and will miss her beautiful spirit. She was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Troy S. Hilton Sr. of Pearl; sons, Stephen Keith Hilton and wife, Sylvia, of Pearl, Troy Kevin Hilton and wife, Maria, of Bridgewater, N.J., Patrick Browne Hilton and wife, Delia Smith, of Satellite Beach, Fla., and Gregory Boothe Hilton and wife, Cindy, of Vicksburg; daughter, Daphne Hilton Weirich and husband, Mike, of Salem, Ore.; sister, Mary Eugenia Breland of New Orleans; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Jackson Browne and Mildred Talbert Browne.

Eugene Herman King Sr.

Eugene Herman King Sr. died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 64.

Mr. King was a member of Evergreen M.B. Church in Redwood where he served as treasurer of the deacon’s board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel King Sr. and Elder Easter Bracey; and a brother, Jessie King.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria King of Vicksburg; nine sons, Eugene King Jr., Harry DeFrance, Roy DeFrance, Pernell DeFrance, Calvin DeFrance, Carl DeFrance, Reginald DeFrance, Terry DeFrance and Sean Johnson, all of Vicksburg; three daughters, Yvetta DeFrance, Keisha King and Pamela Brown, all of Vicksburg; three brothers, Samuel King Jr., of Huntsville, Ala., Larry King and Robert King, both of Vicksburg; seven sisters, Cornelius Nelson of Leesville, La., Joyce King, Estella Barber, Lucy King, Bernice King, Jeanette Calvin and Diane King, all of Vicksburg; 40 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Edward Clifton Moore Sr.

Edward Clifton Moore Sr. died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 88.

Mr. Moore had been a Vicksburg resident most of his life. He was the son of James Samuel and Willie Mae Thomas Moore. A veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre including at the Battle of the Bulge.

He retired in 1981 as body shop foreman from Atwood Chevrolet-Olds after 22 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clydell R. Moore; a daughter, Susan Oleana Moore; four brothers, Ernest Moore, Sam Moore, Albert Moore and Robert William Moore Sr.; and two sisters, Dolly Wilkerson and Louise Mangum.

Survivors include one son, Edward Clifton Moore Jr. of Vicksburg; a foster son, Jeffrey Darren Smith Jr. of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Art Kinstley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Ray Atwood, David Atwood, Randy Thorne, Jerry Bailey, Eddie Embry and David Vanderberry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Price, Emmett Atwood, John Leigh Hyland, Ricky Smith, Steve Cook and William Cook.
