Bobbie Boler.
Bobbie Boler died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 57.
A native of Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. Boler had lived in Vicksburg for the past 40 years. She worked as a kindergarten teacher at Porters Chapel Academy for 28 years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert D. Gray and Violet P. Gray.
She is survived by her husband, J.W. Boler Sr. of Vicksburg; three sons, Dub Boler, Pace Boler and Danny Boler, all of Vicksburg; three brothers, Gene Gray and Kenney Gray, both of Stuttgart, Ark., and Don Gray of Arkansas; her mother-in-law, Marjorie Boler of Vicksburg; one sister, Brenda Gray of Alexandria, La.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mickey Bounds and Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be George Dwiggins, Charles Pettway, Anthony Hearn, Aden Wansley, Jeff McAdory and Billy Brent.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Edward Addo, Dr. Bobby Graham, Todd Hoben, Charles Sanders, Wayne Province, James Cook, Todd Downey and staff members and students at Porters Chapel Academy.

Tommy Carter.
Tommy Carter died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 31.
Mr. Carter is survived by his mother, Betty Carter Harrington of Vicksburg; and his father, Charles Carter of Vicksburg.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Robert Heard.
DETROIT – Robert Heard died Friday, June 30, 2006, at Henry Ford Hospital. He was 76.
Mr. Heard was a resident of Detroit. He was a retired heavy-equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Celeste Priestly Heard; and his parents, Rally and Rosie Heard of Memphis.
Survivors include seven sons, Larry Heard, Carl Heard and Charles Heard, all of Vicksburg, Randy Heard and Andrew Heard, both of Chicago, Bryan Heard of Chicago and Todd Heard of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Frances Heard of Baltimore, Md., Tammi Heard of Las Vegas, Stephanie Heard of Detroit and Rochelle Heard of Vicksburg; 36 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and friends, including Annie Keith of Detroit.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson-Akins Funeral Home in Detroit.
Emma L. Moody.
REDWOOD – Emma L. Moody died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 71.
She is survived by her husband, John T. Moody Sr. of Redwood; two sons, John Moody Jr. of Olympia, Wash., and Anthony Moody of Redwood; five daughters, Yolonda Moody of Memphis, Lynda Ragan, Carolyn Darville and Eddie Mae Williams, all of Vicksburg, and Betty Moody of Ridge crest, Calif.; a brother, Alleghenies McNeil of Chicago; two sisters, Diane Turner and Ella McNeil Jones, both of Chicago; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Popular Grove Methodist Church in Utica.
Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.
Ouida J. Smith.
NEWELLTON – Ouida J. Smith died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 90.
Born in Grenada, Ms. Smith had lived in Newellton most of her life. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Tensas Parish School System and had taught school for 42 years. She was a member of Newellton Union Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Rachel Everett McDevitt of Pearland, Texas; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a niece.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Legion Cemetery in Newellton with the Rev. J. Fulton McGraw officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
