LYON – Viola Agostinelli died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at her home in Lyon. She was 97.

Mrs. Agostinelli was a native of Boyle, Miss., and had shared farming interests with her husband near Clarksdale. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where she was the oldest communicant and a member of the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Agostinelli Sr.; two daughters, Margaret Lipsey and Mary Ester Agostinelli; and one son, Robert Agostinelli.

Survivors include one daughter, Rose Tabor of Katy, Texas; three sons, Pete Agostinelli Jr. and Tom Agostinelli, both of Lyon, and Victor Agostinelli of Vicksburg; three sisters, Gilda Garzoli of Memphis, Ida Ballantino of Chicago and Alice Tarsi of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Ned Mangialardi and Charlie Mangialardi, both of Chicago; and 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with the Rev. John Bohn officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery under the direction of National Funeral Home in Clarksdale.

Visitation will be from 7 until 9 tonight at the church with Rosary at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth School or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Helen Meghan Hughes and Benjamin Richard Leonard.

SANFORD, N.C. – Helen Meghan Hughes, 22, and her brother, Benjamin Richard Leonard, 16, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Miss Hughes was born in Wake County, N.C. She was a member of Grace Community Church on the North Carolina State Campus.

Benjamin was a native of Wake County. He was a student at Western Harnett High School, where he was a member of the JROTC.

Both are survived by their mother, Dannon Ettinger Barrett Forbes of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Andi Hughes of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, David Walker Godfrey of Hamlet, N.C.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Newell R. Murphy Jr. of Vicksburg, Mr. and Mrs. George S. Ettinger of Memphis and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hughes of Harwington, Conn.

Additionally, Miss Hughes is survived by her father, Lawrence Reginald Hughes of New Hampshire. Benjamin is survived by his father, Earl Richard Leonard, and additional grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Leonard of Raleigh.

Memorial services for both will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh with the Revs. Ed Russ, Phil Richmond and Berk Wilson officiating.

Smith Funeral Home of Broadway, N.C., has charge of arrangements.
