Four USM players make All-C-USA|[12/06/06]

HATTIESBURG – Southern Miss linemen George Batiste and Travis Cooley, freshman running back Damion Fletcher and tight end Shawn Nelson garnered all-Conference USA honors.

In addition, two Golden Eagles made the second team and four made the third team.

This is the second-year that Batiste has been selected to the first team, and Cooley’s second year on the all-conference team, but initial appearance on the first team. He was a second-team honoree last year.

Fletcher was named to the first team after setting the school and conference freshman rushing marks with 1,330 yards.

After being named to the third team as a freshman and second team on the media team last week, Nelson garnered first-team honors.

Defensive lineman Martavious Prince and kicker Darren McCaleb made the second team. Defensive lineman Robert Henderson, defensive backs Caleb Hendrix and Brandon Sumrall, and offensive lineman Chris Clark made the third team.
