Annie Mae Bass.
Services for Annie Mae Bass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 tonight at the funeral home.
Ms. Bass died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 91.
A homemaker, Ms. Bass was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bass Sr. and Clara Ford; a brother, Willie “Buddy Shane” Bass Jr.; and a sister, Lillie R. Haney.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Ann Bass Woods of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Dorotha Hill.
Dorotha Hill died Monday, April 24, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 85.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Hill was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Willis Hill and Ellen B. Jackson; and a stepfather, Sam Jackson.
Survivors include his caregiver, Rosa Coleman of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Rosie Golden and family of Chicago.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Grace Hibbler Jefferson.
LOS ANGELES – Grace Hibbler Jefferson died Friday, April 21, 2006, in Los Angeles. She was 90.
A former resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Jefferson was a graduate of Jackson College High School in Jackson and Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. A homemaker, she worked as a substitute teacher for Vicksburg Public Schools. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Vicksburg’s Camille Art and Literary Club, Wesley Women’s Society of Christian Services and Wesley United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Jefferson Sr.; her parents, the Rev. John C. and Georgia Horner Hibbler; nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, George L. Jefferson Jr. of Ocean Side, Calif., and Jeffrey H. Jefferson of Los Angeles; a daughter, Grace J. Stoufer of Denver; a grandchild; nieces, nephews and other friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Dr. Robert Ford officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel.
