Gordon Buddy Campbell

ANGUILLA — Gordon Buddy “Cowboy” Campbell died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Promise Specialty Hospital. He was 72.

Mr. Campbell was a native of Tuscumbia, Ala., and had lived in Anguilla since 1967, working as a cattleman. He was an auctioneer and also employed by the Mississippi Highway Department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jeanette Campbell.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Campbell Rand of Anguilla.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Ewing, Milton Ewing, Russell Stewart Jr., Albert Holmes, Reggie Holmes and George Ray.

James Chriss

Services for James Chriss will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Chriss died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 87.

He was a member of Pleasant Valley M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Chriss of Vicksburg; four daughters, Deloris Lott, Emma Swartz, Gladys Ross and Mary Turner, all of Vicksburg; four sons, Carl Smith of Vicksburg, Caldonia Dilworth of Grand Rapids, Mich., Charles Chriss of Detroit and Samuel Brown of Baton Rouge; a brother, Earnest Marbra of Utica; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Bertha Mixon, Florine Brinkley, Leon Wheatley, Jessie Miller, and the Rev. and Mrs. Douglas Brown family.

Ornary Ray Kirkland

EDWARDS — Ornary Ray Kirkland died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Clinton. She was 88.

Mrs. Kirkland was a member of Kingsley Chapel United Methodist Church in Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Kirkland Sr.; her parents, Tom and Louise Battle; one son, Lewis Kirkland; two sisters, Ersleen Davis Boyd and Willedna Johnson; and four brothers, Thomas Battle, Alvin Battle, Leon Battle and Seymore Battle.

Survivors include three daughters, Joan Bryant and Elsie Easley, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Gwenda Kirkland of Edwards; four sons, Harold Barker of Edwards, John Kirkland of Jackson, Phillip Battle of Chicago and Howard Kirkland of Grants Pass, Ore.; one sister, Portia North of Mobile, Ala.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kingsley Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
