Lucille H. Crump

EDWARDS – Lucille H. Crump died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Central Mississippi Center in Jackson. She was 87.

Mrs. Crump was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church in Edwards, where she served on the mother board.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Crump Down; three sisters, Alice Hunter, Agnes Hodge and Julia Hunter; and five brothers, Willie Hunter, Charles Hunter, George Hunter, Roosevelt Hunter and Wardell Hunter.

She is survived by three sons, Arthur Crump and George Hunter, both of Edwards, and Larry Hunter of Irving, Texas; two daughters, Sharon Hunter of Irving and Jackie Stewart of Edwards; a brother, Walter Hunter of Little Rock, Ark.; and 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and other relatives, including Johnnie Holland of Chicago and Bobbie Noel of Edwards.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Lucinda Williams Dorsey

Lucinda Williams Dorsey died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.

A retired domestic worker, Mrs. Dorsey was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Williams; her father; her husband; one sister, Georgia Williams Bynum; and four brothers, Dennis Fleet, Bennie Williams, David Williams and Arthur Williams.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Willie Nettles family.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Sarah C. Forbes

Sarah C. Forbes died Monday, April 16, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 80.

Mrs. Forbes was a native of Drew, Miss., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1964. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church for 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Forbes Sr.

She is survived by one son, Joe Forbes Jr. of Pascagoula; two daughters, Colleen Hopper and her husband, David Hopper, of Longview, Texas, and Tami Holley and her husband, Henry Holley, of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren, Allison Hopper and Jason Hopper, both of Plano, Texas, Amy Walker of Mounds, Okla., and Lacy Holley and Megan Pickering, both of Vicksburg.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service.

Memorials may be made to Bowmar Baptist Church, 1825 U.S. 61 South, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

Shirley Jean Redwine

Shirley Jean Redwine died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 66.

Born in Tallahatchie County, Mrs. Redwine was the daughter of the late Lois Bond and Herbert Price.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Jones and Ora J. Dykes, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Eloise Soto of Cleveland and Louise Banks of Greenville; a brother, Rayburn Price of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Itta Bena Cemetery with the Rev. D.W. Tipton officiating.

National Funeral Home in Clarksdale has charge of arrangements.
