Pamela Leggett Douglas

Funeral services for Pamela Leggett Douglas, age 46, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the chapel of Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, La., with Brother Ray Leidig officiating. Viewing will be the day before on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Family viewing will be from 4 until 5 p.m., followed by a public viewing from 5 until 8.

Friends are invited to view the body from 8 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, 335 S. Capital St., in Many, La.

Mrs. Douglas, of Vicksburg, died at her home. She was born in Baton Rouge and reared in Many, La. She and her husband, Robert Douglas, resided in the Many area for nine years and later moved to Oakdale, La., in 1990.

She enjoyed traveling, quilting, and visiting with friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. She was strong through life and loved by all.

Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by her father, James Leggett; her father-in-law, Robert H. Douglas; and uncle, John Leggett.

Mrs. Pamela Douglas is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert L. Douglas of Vicksburg; her daughter, Lacy Hebert and husband, H. Landon Hebert; two granddaughters, Lauran, age 7, and Lindsay, age 1, both of Vicksburg; one grandson, Logan, age 5, of Vicksburg; a son, James Robert Lee Douglas, age 17, of Vicksburg; her parents, Jan Treese and the Rev. Bob Treese of Florien, La.; a sister, Wanda Rhodes and husband, Richard Rhodes of Hornbeck, La.; five sisters, Margrett Nixon, Rita Lewing, Debbie Perser and Reba Lane, all of the Sabine Parish area, and Wanda Rhodes and husband, Richard Rhodes, of Hombeck; her brother, Robert Treese of Sabine Parrish area; and her mother-in-law, Darlene Douglas of Jacksonville, Fla.

The family of Mrs. Douglas wishes to express their sincere appreciation to her caregivers, Donna Pate, Kelly Kurtz and the entire staff of Patient Choice as well as the doctors and staff of River Region Hospital of Vicksburg. Special thanks to Gail Strickland, Karen and Michael Lapeyrouse, Walterboro Veneer, the Rhodes, Martin and Anderson families, and employees of Delta Veneer.

Pallbearers will be Lance Douglas, James Douglas, Johnny Leggett, Brady Anderson, Stewart Martin and H. Landon Hebert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Rhodes and Richard Combs.

The family requests memorials to be sent to Warren Meadows Funeral Home, 355 S. Capital St., Many, LA.

William Thomas Macon

William Thomas &#8220Bill” Macon died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007. He was 81.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Macon was a native of Deatsville, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra McQueen Macon, in 1981.

He is survived by his son, Randy Macon, and his daughter, Tammy McFarland, both of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Neal Macon, Jimmy Macon, Johnny Frank Macon and Willie Charles Macon; two sisters, Julia Ann Campbell and Reba Ann Duke; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his companion, Louise McCann.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ellison Funeral Home in Wetumpka, Ala., with the Rev. Gerald Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Shane Thomas, Dylan Thomas Macon, Tonny Carlisle, Thomas Macon, Harold McQueen Jr. and Barry Thibodeaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Henry Lewis and Johnny Macon Jr.
