Leroy Barnes
Services for Leroy Barnes will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Barnes died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 31.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brelinda Barnes.
Mr. Barnes is survived by a son, Leroy Barnes Jr. of Vicksburg; four daughters, Keshona Barnes, La’Kia Barnes and Khiana Austin, all of Vicksburg, and Joyce Ann Barnes; his parents, Tommie Scott and Gladys Grant, both of Vicksburg; a brother, John O. Littleton of Vicksburg; and six sisters, Theresa Barnes, Shannon Hamilton, Diane Barnes, Mary Barnes, Belinda Barnes and Thomasine Barnes, all of Vicksburg.
Ford L. Norris
CARY – Ford L. Norris died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at home in Cary. He was 84.
A native and resident of Sharkey and Issaquena counties, Mr. Norris was a veteran of the Marines, serving in World War II at Iwo Jima and the Volcano Islands. He retired from Southern Natural Gas Company and the U.S. Marine Corps. He was member of Goodman Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Rae Norris.
He is survived by a son, Alton Norris of Cary; a stepson, Paul Massey of Satartia; a daughter, Joan Leggett of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Dalton Norris of Mayersville; a sister, Alene Stewart of Anguilla; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Goodman Memorial United Methodist Church in Cary with the Revs. Beth Miller and Brian Carrubba officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Julia M. Warren Regan
Julia M. Warren Regan died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at her home. She was 90.
A homemaker, Mrs. Regan was a member of Excelsior Chapter No. 349 O.E.S. A member of St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church, she had served on the mother and usher’s board.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Regan Sr.; her parents, the Rev. Irvin Warren Sr. and Ethel Martin Warren; a brother, Irvin Warren Jr.; two sisters, her twin who died at birth, and Gustavia W. Barnes.
She is survived by four sons, George L. Regan Sr., Ernest Regan Jr. and Ronald C. Regan, all of Vicksburg, and Irvin L. Regan Sr. of Champaign, Ill.; two daughters, Dr. Barbara J. Regan and Beverly C. Regan, both of Vicksburg; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Sylvia Jeannette Taylor James, Dorothy Warren, the Green, Lassiter, Richardson, Rush, Ewell, Christian and Warren families, all of Vicksburg.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Lethel Thompson
Lethel “LeDale” Thompson died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at his home. He was 64.
Mr. Thompson was retired from the Holiday Inn. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Artie Thompson; one son, Leon Thompson; and two brothers, James McNair and Andrew Green.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Thompson of Vicksburg; two sons, Rico Thompson and Lee Andrew Thompson, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Marie Sartin of Vicksburg; one sister, Lucille Feld of Fayette; and one grandson.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Fronan S. Williams
Services for Fronan S. Williams will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Locust Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Johnny Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Locust Grove M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Williams; a son, Dave Williams; her parents, Jerry and Lizzie Smith; a sister, Alice Smith; four brothers, James Smith, L.C. Smith, Dave Smith and Jerry Smith Jr.; and five grandchildren, Angela Reed, Michelle Reed, James Reed, Terry Ivory and Houston Williams Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Georgia Reed, Bernice Williams and Elease Fisher, all of Vicksburg; four sons, Sterling Ivory Sr., Henry Williams, Houston Williams and Clinton Williams, all of Vicksburg; 30 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
