M.L. Graham

LAUREL – Mr. M.L. &#8220Milford” Graham died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at his residence in Laurel. Known to his friends as &#8220PeeMite” and &#8220Boll Weevil,” Mr. Graham was 92 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Beatrice Graham; his parents, Cooper and Della Graham; brothers, Claude Graham and Derb Graham; sisters, Velma Smith, Delphia Graham and Eunice Meadows; his son-in-law, Robert Winpigler; a granddaughter, Kathy Cooper Guthrie; and a great-grandson, Matthew Cooper.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Ann Graham of Laurel; daughters and sons-in-law, Nan and Robert Hathorn and Carol and Audrey Cooper, all of Laurel, and Kay Winpigler of Vicksburg; sister-in-law, Mary Brown of North Little Rock, Ark.; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Graham was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church, where he was a lifetime deacon. He retired from Masonite Corp. after 25 years. He was a former auxiliary member of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department and a longtime supporter of West Jones High School athletics.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Memory Chapel in Laurel with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Memory Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Keyes will officiate.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Lee Parker, Mark Hathorn, Bubba Hathorn, Rob Winpigler, Audrey Lee Cooper and Eric Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Dobbs, Kris Dobbs, Joseph Dobbs, Trey Winpigler, Benjamin Winpigler, Randall Dobbs, Bradley Barnes and Billy Strickland.

Roosevelt Singleton

Roosevelt Singleton died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 30.

Mr. Singleton was employed as a security guard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Jordan and a brother, James Singleton.

He is survived by his mother, Johnnie Ruth Singleton; three brothers, D.Y. Singleton of Gary, Ind., Donnie Singleton and Michael Singleton, both of Edwards; and three sisters, Willie Nichols of Chicago, Clementine Singleton of Gary and Janice Singleton Foster of Jackson.

Lakeview Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
