Danny R. Butler
Danny R. Butler died Friday, March 2, 2007, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 60.
A native of Winters, Texas, Mr. Butler had lived in Vicksburg since July 1986. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years, including two tours in Vietnam. He worked for Baker Security for 20 years, serving as general manager. He was of the Baptist faith.
Danny was loved by his wife and children and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Butler.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Cain Butler of Vicksburg; one son, Kenny Butler of Long Beach, Calif.; one stepson, David Spence of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Kim Megarit of Santa Clarita, Calif., Kelley Butler of Lakewood, Calif., and Kristie Butler of Fullerton, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Toni Miles of Biloxi; his mother, Jeneva H. Butler of Clyde, Texas; three brothers, Johnny Butler of Wingate, Texas, Walter Butler of Mariposa, Calif., and Roy Butler of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Betty Mullins of Clyde and Sherry Moore of Redwood, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Chapel in Vicksburg with Les Ferguson and Donnie Cain, brother-in-law, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Alex Megarit, Alan Megarit, Kenny Butler, George Moore, John Lee and Jeff Crevitt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Bell, Larry Finney, Corey Wilson, Martin Pace, John Edward Baker, Tim Cowen, Kim Cooke and Angel Kleinhans.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for Danny’s widow, Cynthia Butler; donations may be made at any Trustmark Bank branch.
