Jimmie Pearson Braswell

Jimmie Pearson Braswell, 81, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight.

Mrs. Braswell had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1950. She retired from Westinghouse and worked briefly at Howard Brothers and Vicksburg Clinic. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Braswell.

She is survived by her son, Russell M. &#8220Rusty” Braswell of Vicksburg and his son, Wesley Whitaker and daughter, Lexie Whitaker; her daughter, Bettye Kaminski of Bonaire, Ga., and her son, Steve Kaminski and his daughter, Kaitlyn Kaminski; Mrs. Kaminski’s daughter, Leigh Ann Clark and her daughter, Alexandra Clark.

Pallbearers will be Bill Vaughn, Ralph Pace, James Braswell, Wilson Braswell, Steve Kaminski and Wesley Whitaker.

Betty Bogue Browder

JASPER, Ga. – Betty Bogue Browder died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007. She was 73.

A homemaker, Mrs. Browder served as a Sunday school teacher at Bells Ferry Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Virgie Bogue; two brothers, Vernon Bogue and James Bogue; and a grandson, Steve Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Bill C. Browder; three sons, David Browder of Hawaii, Rodney Browder of Jasper and Darrell Browder of West Monroe; five daughters, Patricia Hunt of Jasper, Ga., Brenda Butler of Talking Rock, Ga., Sharon Howell of Canton, Ga., Mari Taylor of Vicksburg and Ginger Bailey of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Sue Wilson of Millington, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sosebee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Browder, Ted Wooldridge and Luke Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 tonight and Tuesday until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Vivian Deloris Farrish Dillard

Services for Vivian Deloris Farrish Dillard will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will be Wednesday morning at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dillard died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Dillard was a graduate of Rust College in Holly Springs, Miss., and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Education Building Fund. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Mrs. Dillard taught at Rosa A. Temple High School. She was employed for a number of years as secretary at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Dillard; her parents, James L. Farrish Sr. and Annie L. Farrish; and a brother, James L. Farrish Jr.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Maude Jefferson of Vicksburg and Dorothy Ross of Eugene, Ore.; five stepgrandchildren; and other relatives, including Anita Houston and Sylvia S. Redd, both of Vicksburg; James L. Farrish III of Edwards; and members of the Walker, Hoyt, Farrish and Franklin families.

Jim W. Hall Sr.

Jim W. &#8220Mike” Hall Sr., died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 89.

He was a retired farmer and employee of the former Westinghouse Lighting Plant.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 62 years, Marvel Ward Hall; his parents, John and Leota Hall; two brothers, Buck Hall and Dan Hall; and four sisters, Alma Young, Benny Cox, Trudy Salyers and Aubin Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Hall of Vicksburg; a daughter, Doris Faye Acuff and husband, Wayne, of Vicksburg; a son, Jim W. Hall Jr. and wife, Sue, of Edwards; four stepdaughters, Patricia Winters and Faye Roller, both of Elmore City, Okla., Shelia Peck and husband, Roy, of Pauls Valley, Okla. and Tawana Campbell and husband, Gene, of Chicksaha, Okla.; five grandchildren, Holly Neihaus, Jason Acuff, Jim W. Hall III, Michael Hall and Joel Hall; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Campbell of Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Jim W. Hall III, Michael Hall and Joel Hall, and great-grandchildren, Will Neihaus, Cody Hall, Jacob Hall and Matthew Hall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Ward, George Ward Sr., James Walter Alexander, Ronnie Terrell, William Fulcher, Dr. Russell Barnes, Reggie King, Roy Peck and James Howard Hearn.

Henry Joseph Ludwig

ANGUILLA – Henry Joseph &#8220Joe” Ludwig died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 88.

Born in Little Rock, Ark., Joe was the son of the late Henry Edward and Pearl Elizabeth Ludwig. He and his wife, Connie Muranto Ludwig of Vicksburg, had been married for 61 years. He served as a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. A retired clerk, he was a communicant of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Anguilla.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry Ludwig of Anguilla; a sister, Henrietta Celano of Jerome, Mich.; a grandson, Henry &#8220Hank” Ludwig and wife, Andrea, of Hernando; and a great-granddaughter, Maryn Ludwig of Hernando.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Jim O’Riordan officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery. Rosary services will be from 5 until 5:30 tonight, followed by visitation from 5:30 until 6:30 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be Henry Phelps, Willie Maranto, Donnie Dick, Russell Mahaltic, Joel Sandifer and Steve White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Danny Jackson, Dr. Mehar Oad, Joe W. Ford and Mike Maranto.
