Francis Hudson
PORT GIBSON – Francis Hudson died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 81.
Mr. Hudson was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Port Gibson. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a sister, Sarah Riley of Gulfport; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Toby Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.
Bettie Jean Middleton
Services for Bettie Jean Middleton were at 10 a.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Biedenharn officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Mrs. Middleton died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at her home. She was 72.
A native of Braxton, Mrs. Middleton lived most of her life in Vicksburg. She was a member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church and retired as a supply clerk from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Middleton.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Edward Brewer Jr. of Callahan, Fla., and Paul Wade Brewer Sr. of Clinton; three daughters, Melanie McNeil and Connie Jean Tait, both of Vicksburg, and Debra Susan Dennis of Brandon; three brothers, William “Sonny” Harper of Ponchatoula, La., James “Bud” Harper of Vicksburg and Cecil W. Harper of Madison; one sister, Cheryl Sue Harper of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Paul W. Brewer Jr., Shon E. Tait, Carter Dickerson, Nat Pitner, Adam McGahey and Trae Wells.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobbie Dolan, Jessica Janotta, Dr. Paul W. Pierce III and staff, River Region Medical Center fifth-floor staff, and employees of Sta-Home Hospice, Gilbert Home Health and Camellia Home Health.
Alice Elizabeth Rollins Tillman
Services for Alice Elizabeth Rollins Tillman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary M.B. Church with the Rev. Mincer Minor officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
Mrs. Tillman died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 97.
A retired cosmetologist, Mrs. Tillman was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by a great-niece, Alma Sullivan of Vicksburg; and other friends and relatives, including Mattie Jones, Christine Jackson, Carl Sims, Cynthia Sims, Gloria Cooper, Alex Cooper, Alex Jackson, Ramona Latham and Louis I. Sullivan, all of Vicksburg; and Odie Williams of Chicago.
