John Paul Parks

John Paul Parks, the 17-month-old son of John W. Parks Jr. and Jane Elizabeth Parks, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at River Region Medical Center.

John Paul, a native of Vicksburg, was born on Sept. 10, 2005. He was the little brother of Elizabeth C. Parks, grandson of John and Jackie Parks of Redwood and Patty Ogle and the late Jerry Ogle of Bentonia.

In addition to other relatives, he is survived by loving uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Apostolic Church of Vicksburg. Burial will follow at Central Holmes Cemetery in Bentonia under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. The Revs. John Parks, David Ogle and Michael Couch will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the church.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Parks, Toby Parks, Cody Parks, Millard Parks, Billy Ogle, Gerald Ogle and Darryl Ogle.

James F. Reeves Jr.

James F. &#8220Peewee” Reeves Jr. died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 52.

Born in Jones County, Mr. Reeves had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past five years. He was owner of Peewee’s 61 Hideaway. He was a member of American Bikers Active Toward Education. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Graham Reeves.

He is survived by two daughters, Rachel A. Reeves of Purvis and Vanessa M. Bourn of Hattiesburg; a son, James Franklin Reeves III of Purvis; his father, James Franklin Reeves Sr. of Gautier; a sister, Karen Joyce Harrison of Texas; a brother, Graham Robert Reeves of Ellisville; and one grandson.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 323 Highway 51, Second Floor, Ridgeland, MS 39157.

J.T. Robinson Sr.

JACKSON – J.T. Robinson Sr. died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, in Ridgeland, Miss. He was 81.

He was a former resident and retired chief of police for the City of Natchez.

Mr. Robinson was born on March 2, 1925, in Natchez to John Edward and Minnie Lee Rascoe Robinson. Before finishing high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in World War II. Upon his return, he completed high school on the GI Bill. Following in his father’s footsteps, he served as a policeman in Natchez from 1947 until 1959. He later served the citizens of Adams County as chief criminal deputy sheriff from 1960 until 1961. He was elected as chief of police in Natchez from July 1, 1962, until his retirement on Aug. 15, 1982. After his retirement, he moved to Jackson and began working for the State of Mississippi Capital Police beginning on April 15, 1985, until his retirement on March 31, 2002. He was a member of St. Mary Basilica in Natchez, Mississippi Law Enforcement Association, Mississippi Track Club and American Legion. He also served as past president of Mississippi Chief Association. He loved his wife, Donna, running in races with all of his friends and taking care of his many animals.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, five sisters and his very best friend, Herman Calvin Estes of Natchez.

He is survived by his wife and love of all his life for 38 years, Donna Allred Robinson of Jackson; his children, J.T. &#8220Ted” Robinson Jr. of Monks Corner, S.C., Carl &#8220Bubba” Robinson of Lake St. John, La., Terry F. Robinson of Natchez, Gwen Robinson Bowen of Valdosta, Ga., and Lynn Robinson Perry of Natchez; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a good friend, Rick Johnson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, located on Union Street, with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Spook Martin, Jack Hude, Billy Beach, Tommy Delancy, Ed Easton and Rick Johnson.

Raymond Ogden Wilson Sr.

Raymond Ogden Wilson Sr. died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at his residence. He was 88.

Born in Pensacola, Fla., Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Lawrence Alonzo Wilson Sr. and Hazel Prather Wilson. He was a former resident of Natchez and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1946. Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Natchez High School and Louisiana State University receiving his B.A. degree in business administration. During World War II, he entered active military service on Sept.11, 1941, serving in the 10th Army. He served in the mines and demolition section and later was with the invasion force in Okinawa. Mr. Wilson was discharged from military service on Jan. 10, 1946, with the rank of technical sergeant. He was a member of the Acacia Chapter of the Eastern Star and Harmony Masonic Lodge in Natchez, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Wilson Jr. and Frank E. Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evan L. Wilson; a daughter, Lorraine W. Greaves and her husband, Guy, of Mill Spring, N.C.; three sons, Raymond O. Wilson Jr., Dr. Joseph L. Wilson and Donald C. Wilson, all of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Raymond Bradley Wilson, Christopher Patrick Wilson, Jesse Lee Holder and Michael Cole Wilson; and a great-grandchild, Caden Holder; three nieces and three nephews

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hess of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Bradley Wilson, Christopher Patrick Wilson, Jesse Lee Holder, Michael Cole Wilson, Johnny Baylot and James Rone.
