JACKSON – Jewel Cleo Gould, 94, died April 5, 2007, at Lakeland Nursing and Rehab Center in Jackson.

Visitation will be 1 until 2:45 p.m. today at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, with a 3 p.m. chapel service. Burial will follow at Line Creek Cemetery in Rankin County.

Mrs. Gould was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. She retired from the police force in Kosciusko and was a member of the John Guild Chapter of the DAR and the MLEOA (Miss. Law Enforcement Officer Association). She loved to crochet and quilt and especially loved gardening. In addition to caring for her family, she devoted herself to service in her church and community.

Survivors include her children, James Gould and wife, Katheryn, of Fannin, Patricia Robins of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Don Gould and wife, Guyla, of Vicksburg; one sister, Marjorie White of Morton; four grandchildren, Anne Cook and husband, Ken, of Starkville, Thomas Gould of Canton, Allen Gould and wife, Anna, of West Chester, Pa., and Dr. Jim Robins and wife, Denise, of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Melissa and Allison Cook of Starkville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Gould; three sisters, Melba Stegall, Willie Grace Crotwell and Katie Mae Barnes; and a son-in-law, Bob Robins.

Gilbert Mills

WAYNESBORO – Gilbert &#8220Demp” Mills died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. He was 82.

A Waynesboro native, Mr. Mills was a mechanic. He was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Lois Mills of Waynesboro; two sons, Danny Mills of Vicksburg and Randy Mills of Richland; one daughter, Sharon McCurdy of Forest; a brother, Rollo Mills of Waynesboro; two sisters, Lou Betty Rigney of Mobile, Ala., and Alene Cochran of Waynesboro; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Harvest Temple Church of God with the Rev. Eddie Bean officiating. Burial will follow at White House Cemetery under the direction of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
