Anice Darlene Davis
Services for Anice Darlene Davis will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was 44.
She was a retired business administrator and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Davis III of Vicksburg; two sons, Darrin Maxwell and Samuel Davis, both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Audrey W.M. Davis of Vicksburg; her mother, Eunice Norfort of Vicksburg; one brother, Hakeem Shabazz of Decatur, Ga.; one grandchild; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Virginia L. Jackson
Virginia L. Jackson died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at her home. She was 79.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Willie O. Jackson; her parents, Benjamin Hall and Willie V. Hall; three brothers, John Ingram, Joe Ingram and Audrey Hall; and one sister, Utell V. Edwards.
She is survived by a son, David Roach of Vicksburg; three daughters, Patricia Graham and husband Bill of Dudley, N.C., Judy Brown and husband Mac of Vicksburg, and Fran Dufrene and husband Johnny of Gautier; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. E.L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Graham, Jason Graham, Michael Graham, Dewayne Roach, Sammy Foster and Jay Potter.
Sylvester Wardley Sr.
Sylvester Wardley Sr. died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 85.
He was a member of Triumph M.B. Church, where was a deacon and a member of the trustee board. He had retired from Anderson-Tully Co. and was in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Paragon Lodge No. 7.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose Wardley and Hattie Moore; three brothers, Willie Wardley, William Wardley and George Smith; four sisters, Florence Burns, Mary Anderson, Helen Anderson and Cecile Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Benard Wardley of Vicksburg; two sons, Willie Wardley of Vicksburg, and Sylvester Wardley Jr. of Atlanta; six stepdaughters, Jackie Benard, Nancy Benard, Lucille Austin, Lenora Benard, Delisa Mixon and Hope Austin, all of Vicksburg; a sister, Emily Middleton of Vicksburg, and other relatives and friends.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
