Annise Davenport

Services for Annise Davenport will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Vicksburg City Auditorium with the Rev. Joseph Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Sunday until the hour of service.

Mr. Davenort died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Promise Specialty Hospital. He was 79.

Born in Fitler, Mr. Davenport moved to Vicksburg in 1956. He retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Olivia Davenport; and a sister, Elizabeth Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Davenport; 15 children, Annize Valentine Davenport of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Olivia Lewis of Chicago, Thomas Davenport, George Davenport, Ellen Carter, Andrew Davenport, Fred Davenport, Lester Davenport, Gary Davenport and Gabriel Davenport, all of Vicksburg, Lucy Moore of Chicago, Marilyn Steel of Detroit, Otis Davenport of Stockton, Calif., Viola Hudson of Memphis and Jerry Davenport of Fayetteville, N.C.; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

L.C. Dotson

Services for L.C. Dotson will be at noon Saturday at Bright Morning Star M.B. Church with the Rev. Reginald Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mr. Dotson died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 70.

A Claiborne County native, Mr. Dotson retired from International Paper after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving in World War II.

He was a member of Bright Morning Star M.B. Church, Paragon Lodge No. 7 F&AM and Tyner-Ford Post No. 213 American Legion. He was worthy patron of Rose of Sharon chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his father, Q.C. Dotson.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Robinson Dotson of Vicksburg; a son, James Dotson of Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Linda Dotson of Leland; his mother, Mary Dorsey Dotson of Vicksburg; a sister, Marjorie D. Hopkins of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; and cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Hazel Marie Hatchett

Hazel Marie Hatchett died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at her home. She was 81.

Born in Warren County, Mrs. Hatchett was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church, where she was on the mother board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hatchett Jr.; a son, Harold Hatchett; her parents, Charlie and Aurilla Williams; seven brothers, George Williams, Graham Williams, Amos Williams, Charlie Williams, Hardin Williams, Wallace Williams and John Williams; and six sisters, Mary Williams, Lizzet Walker, Rutha Mae Jefferson, Jimella Allison, Clara Thomas and Ida Bell.

Survivors include six sons, John Hatchett, Rayfield Hatchett and Albert Hatchett III, all of Vicksburg, Phillip Hatchett and Louis Hatchett, both of Denver, Colo., and Joel M. Hatchett of Fort Worth, Texas; six daughters, Dorothy Rogers, Alfreda Hatchett, Mary Ann Hatchett, Donna Hatchett-Jones and Tammy Hatchett, all of Vicksburg, and Cherry Hatchett of Denver; and 38 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.

Rubin Kelly

Services for Rubin “Little Bro” Kelly will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kelly died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 61.

Born in Drew, Mr. Kelly was employed with Aden Brothers Plantation in Valley Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kelly Jr. and Earline Richards Kelly; and four sisters, Christine Promise, Lucille Jones, Josephine Turner and Susie Bell Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Earline Nailor Kelly of Vicksburg; three sons, Robert Earl Tyler of Jackson, Rob Roy Tyler of Vicksburg and John Henry Tyler of Buffalo, N.Y.; four daughters, Nicole Jones, Joyce Marie Tyler and Doris Ann Tyler, all of Vicksburg, and Rachel Ray Tyler of Jackson; two brothers, Charles Kelly of Vicksburg and Charlie Kelly of New Orleans; two sisters, Pauline Williams and Frankie Mae Hall, both of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mack Charles Pampley Jr.

Mack Charles Pampley Jr. died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 59.

Mr. Pampley was a member of Mount Heroden M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Lee and M.C. Pampley of Vicksburg; one brother, Gregory Pampley; and his grandparents, Liza Jones, Rosie Ray and Mattile Lowell.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Fran Pampley of Vicksburg; one daughter, Miranda Kincaid of Louisville; one son, Mack Charles Pampley III of Jackson; six sisters, Linda Stevens, Michelle Johnson and Patricia Kinnard, all of Vicksburg, Peggy Simpson of New York, N.Y., Rose Sanders of Jackson and Kimberly Love of Montgomery, Ala.; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Sadie Pampley of Vicksburg, Hattie Winston-Wheeler of Los Angeles and members of the Hartman, Regan, Powell and Sims families.

Estella Michelle Tubwell Tate

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Estella Michelle Tubwell Tate died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Pensacola, Fla. She was 41.

Formerly of Leland, Mrs. Tate was a Pensacola resident.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Tubwell.

Survivors include two sons, Senica Tubwell of Jackson and Jaryan Dupree of Pensacola; four daughters, Shronda Tubwell, Marilyn Tubwell, Celicia Tubwell and Vagillian Dupree, all of Pensacola; her mother and stepfather, Ceasther Tubwell and Elijah Chillis of Arcola; four brothers, Robert Tubwell of Southaven, James Tubwell of Pensacola, Don Tubwell of Greenville and Kelvin Tubwell of Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Emma Tubwell of Delta City, Virginia Bonney of Dallas, Jannie Williams of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Rosella Newell of McKinney, Texas; and friends and other relatives, including Larry Dupree of Tampa, Fla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Delta City with Pastor Eugene Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Greenville under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
