Supervisors agree to hear tax objections|[08/07/07]

One resident and four companies – one of which owns the landing at City Front – sent letters to the Warren County Tax Assessor’s Office objecting to values assigned to their respective properties, and supervisors agreed to meet with each party Monday.
Taxpayers, who receive no notices of the change, had 30 days to file written protests to figures calculating county tax bills usually arriving in December.
In the statutory process, supervisors sit as a review board for assessment questions.
Owners who protest must find out about their assessments by asking at the courthouse. Still, Deputy Tax Assessor Jim Agent said the five written objections were up from just two in 2006. He also said objections were with the process of reappraising property and not their values in particular.
