Bonnie Elaine Shedd FoxUPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Bonnie Elaine Shedd Fox died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Prince Georges Hospital in Cheverly, Md. She was 57.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Fox was a 1968 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and worked locally as a certified lifeguard before moving to Baltimore, Md. She was employed at Westinghouse in Linthicum, Md., for more than 10 years. In 1988, she returned to Vicksburg and moved back to Maryland in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Lee Shedd.

She is survived by her husband, Fredrick T. Fox; two daughters, Emilie Marie Fox Monroe and Tiffany Rochelle Fox Randolph; one son, Fredrick T. Fox Jr.; her father, Tennyson O. Shedd Jr.; three brothers, Tennyson O. Shedd III, Michael B. Shedd Jackson and Herbert W. Shedd; two sisters, Carolyn Shedd Lassiter and Janet Higgins Clark; eight grandchildren; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Md.

Jerutha W. Garrett

Jerutha W. Garrett died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.

Mrs. Garrett was retired from the G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. She was a member of Gospel Temple M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Garrett Sr.; her parents, Will Watson and Belzonia Rayford; and two brothers, Wesley Smith and Bernard Watson.

Survivors include five sons, Ronald Garrett and Wayne Garrett, both of Clinton, Larry Garrett of Utica, George Garrett Jr. of Markham, Ill., and Gregory Garrett of Winslow, Ariz.; two daughters, Jerutha “Rita” Dunigan of Winslow and Linda Wardley of Vicksburg; a brother, Will Watson of Clinton; a sister, Ann Price of Altadena, Calif.; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including Kay Doyle and Patricia Chocolate of Vicksburg.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Ellen Elizabeth Coor Hudnall

ST. JOSEPH – Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Coor Hudnall, age 97, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Joseph with Father Robert N. Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Visitation will be at the church parish hall from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Hudnall died Monday, May 5, 2008, in Tallulah at the Olive Branch Senior Care Center. She was born in Jackson, Miss., and had lived in Tensas Parish for 90 years. She was a legal secretary, bookkeeper and a Deputy Clerk of Court. She was member of Eastern Star and a member of Christ Episcopal Church of St. Joseph.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Lee of Tallulah and Cecil Linda Evans of St. Joseph; one brother, John R. Coor of St. Joseph; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Hudnall Landry of Metairie, La.; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie R. Hudnall; son, Willie B. “Sonny” Hudnall; and great-grandson, Jed Dartlone.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, any memorials can be made to Christ Episcopal Church in St. Joseph or to the Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah.

Earl May

Earl May died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 60.

Born in Copiah County, he was the son of the late William Cecil May and Florence Elizabeth Meade May.

A longtime resident of Vicksburg, Mr. May owned and operated numerous businesses in Vicksburg and other states before his retirement. Mr. May was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two daughters, Terry Prescott of Auburn, Ga., and Stacy Acuff of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Sebron Earl “Sebo” May II, Virginia Elizabeth Hayes, Billy Joe “Bubba” Hayes Jr. and Shirley Hayes; a sister, Sue Bullock of Vicksburg; two brothers, Wayne May and Richard May, both of Denham Springs, La.; and his former wife, Shirley May of Vicksburg.

He was predeceased by his sister, Connie May; and a brother, Mitchell May.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Living By The Word Fellowship Church, 1901 N. Frontage Road, Suite 3, Vicksburg, MS.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundationof Mississippi, 800 Avery Blvd., Ste. 100, Ridgeland, MS 39157 and to the Kidney Foundation of Mississippi, P.O. Box 55802, Jackson, MS 39296.

Lynell Deon Porter

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lynell Deon Porter, formerly of Vicksburg, died Monday, April 28, 2008, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 19.

Mr. Porter is survived by his parents, Larry Porter of Vicksburg and Tricilla Galloway Parson of Homerville, Ga.; his grandparents, Louise Porter of Vicksburg and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Jackson of Homerville; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Simon Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Pastor W.H. Randall officiating.

Machondra Price

EDWARDS – Services for Machondra Price will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Moriah M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Ms. Price died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her home in Edwards. She was 36.

Ms. Price was a cashier.

She was preceded in death by her father, P.C. Price; her paternal grandparents, Judge Price and Lucille Price; and her maternal grandmother, Claudine Kelly Graham.

She is survived by a daughter, Alisha Price of Gulfport; a son, Xavian Price of Edwards; her mother, Osie Faye Kelly Price of Edwards; one brother, Stanley Price of Bolton; and her maternal grandfather, Alphonzo Graham of Edwards.
