Elizabeth Ann Gibson

Eliazbeth Ann Gibson died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 76.

Mrs. Gibson was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She had worked at Karl’s Men’s Store, White’s, Mercy Hospital and Warren County Schools as a bus driver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Gibson; a daughter, Patricia Gibson; her parents, Adolph and Hattie Kreischer; and a brother, Fritz Kreischer.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck Gibson and Rick Gibson, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Jackie Bobb of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Bounds officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the hour of service. She donated her body to science.

Memorials may be made to Mississippi Baptist Children’s Home or the American Cancer Society.

Hilda Joy Irving Hollie

Services for Hilda Joy Irving Hollie will be at noon Saturday at Travis Chapel A.M.E. Church in Kings. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the family present from 7 until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Hollie died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 69.

A Vicksburg native, Mrs. Hollie was the daughter of Sam and John Eva Dabbs Cooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Hollie; and two brothers, Alexander Trisby and Michael Wilson.

She is survived by one son, Kelvin E. Irving of Edwards; two daughters, Carla Irving Forte of Vicksburg and Norma Lynn Irving King of Southaven; two sisters, Marion Cooper Humes of Chicago and Joan Rainey of West Memphis, Ark.; three brothers, William Cooper of Chicago and Freddie Cooper and Nash Wilson, both of Memphis; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
