Holman E. Dacus

TRANSYLVANIA, La. — Holman E. Dacus died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at his home in Transylvania, La. He was 90.

Born in Danville, Ark., Mr. Dacus had lived in Transylvania for 67 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Tallulah Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Dacus; and a son, Robert “Bobby” Dacus.

He is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Dacus and Margie Arrington, both of Richland, Miss., Vicki Thompson of Benton, La., Jo Ellen Mitchell of Shreveport and Glenda Stanley of Transylvania; one brother, Amon D. Dacus of Conroe, Texas; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with Robert Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Providence. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until the service.

Pallbearers will be David Wiley, Travis Hancock, John Coker, Rick Clevenger, Toby Sullivan and Robert Stanley.
