City man jailed after chase in stolen car|[06/13/08]

A Vicksburg man was picked up by authorities Thursday after he was caught driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen from a local car dealership two weeks ago.
Richard Daumer, 29, 114 Bering St., was arrested by Vicksburg Police and Warren County deputies on Fisher Ferry near Fonsylvania Road at about 1:30 p.m., Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. The 1995 Izuzu Rodeo was reported stolen from OK Cars, 1460 S. Frontage Road, May 29.
The arrest came after a brief chase south on Fisher Ferry Road, Stewart said.
Daumer was charged with auto theft and was in the Warren County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Vicksburg man held for Georgia authorities
A traffic stop in the city landed the arrest of a wanted Vicksburg man.
Michael Dewayne Buster, 44, 4407 N. Frontage Road No. 61, was arrested at 6:44 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 61 South near Warrenton Road and charged with felony bond jumping and a probation violation, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. Details of the charges were not available this morning, but Stewart said Buster was wanted for the offenses in Shelby County, Ga.
Buster was being held without bond at the Vicksburg Police Department pending an extradition hearing.
Air conditioner hot in one of two burglaries
A sewage testing capacitor and an air-conditioning unit were reported stolen in two county burglaries Wednesday.
At 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a Global Water Consumer Testing Capacitor being stolen from a sewer lagoon on Twin Creeks Drive. The equipment was valued at $1,500.
The window AC unit, valued at $450, was reported stolen from a home in the 10000 block of U.S. 61 South. The burglary was reported to the sheriff’s department at about 6 p.m.
Fire, smoke damage part of home off U.S. 80
A Thursday morning fire destroyed part of a mobile home but caused no injuries.
No one was in the mobile home at 550 Heartwood Road, off U.S. 80, when the fire was reported, said Kelly Worthy, coordinator for the Warren County volunteer fire departments.
Neighbors reported the fire at about 9:16 a.m.
The fire, which destroyed about 25 percent of the home and caused smoke damage throughout, was extinguished by the Culkin and Bovina volunteer departments, along with a few additional volunteers from the Fisher Ferry volunteer fire department.
The cause remained under investigation, Worthy said.
