Steve Wilson has joined the editorial staff of The Vicksburg Post as sports editor.

He comes to Vicksburg from the Biloxi Sun-Herald, where he was a sports copy editor.

Wilson also held sports reporting and editing positions  in McComb, LaGrange, Ga., and Sebring, Fla.

He is a Mobile, Ala., native and a 2003 graduate of the University of Alabama, where he majored in journalism.

He served five years in the U.S. Coast Guard, in which he participated in Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti and Operation New Frontier in the Caribbean.

At the Post, Wilson replaces Sean P. Murphy.
