Three Vicksburg residents were taken to the emergency room this morning after a car and a nearly empty school bus collided on Nailor Road.

Eva Daffron, 37, 4813 Nailor Road, Lot 39, was attempting to turn left when her 2003 white Toyota Camry and the westbound bus collided, investigating Sheriff’s Officer Jerry Walker said.

Daffron, bus driver Michael Smith, 42, 1848 Main St., and bus monitor Bernica Henry, 46, 506 Bowmar Ave., were taken to River Region Medical Center, where a spokesman said at mid-morning that their conditions were still being assessed in the emergency room.

The bus had just dropped off students at South Park Elementary, said head of Vicksburg Warren School District transportation David Keen.

No citations were issued, said Walker.

Teen accused of stabbing brother over sleeping fight

A Vicksburg teen was stabbed by his sister this morning after the two argued over who would sleep on a couch at their home on Jefferson Street, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

The victim, a 19-year-old male, was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.

The assailant was the victim’s 15-year-old sister, Stewart said. It was not known if she was handed over to authorities.

Cash, debit card missing from LeTourneau lot

Cash and a debit card were reported missing Monday in the county.

A Trustmark debit card and $536 were reported stolen at 5:01 p.m. from a purse left inside an employee’s vehicle at LeTourneau Technologies on LeTourneau Road.

Residential and business burglaries were reported to Vicksburg police.

An antique bed frame, head and footboard, toilet tank, box spring, two mattresses, stereo component, antique crystal glasses, antique silverware and a 20-inch Goldstar television, all with an unknown value, were reported stolen Sunday at 11:24 a.m. from a vacant residence in the 1700 block of Court Street.

Two of the burglaries were in the 1300 block of Farmer Street, but police said they are not believed to be related, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

* A 19-inch Quasar television valued at $299 and Fossil wallet valued at $100 were reported stolen Monday at 5:29.

* A Motorola Razr cell phone valued at $150, Nintendo DS video game valued at $150 and Phillips DVD player valued at $75 were reported stolen Monday at 8:21 p.m. from the same block.

* A 17-inch flat-screen computer monitor valued at $922 was reported stolen Monday at 9:40 a.m. from Speedee Cash, 2170 S. Frontage Road.

* The lock on the driver’s door of a 2000 Buick Regal was reported tampered with, but nothing was stolen, Friday at 5:59 p.m. The car had been parked at the Vicksburg Convention Center, 1600 Mulberry St.

* The lock on the driver’s door of a Ford F-150 was reported tampered with, but nothing was stolen, Sunday at 10:11 p.m. The truck had been parked at Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St.

Three men jailed for assault, robbery

Three Vicksburg men were charged Sunday in an assault and robbery.

Arrested and in the Warren County Jail this morning on a $25,000 bond each are:  Johnny Earl Thomas Jr., 23, 1520 Rosedown St.; Lewis Charles Taylor, 21, 1001 Speed St.; and Nikita Jamille Taylor, 20, 2400 Clay St.

The three are accused of an assault at 12:09 a.m. in the 1300 block of Washington Street, in which the victim reported $140 was missing.

They were arrested at 2320 Washington St.

The victim did not require medical attention, Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said.

No further information on the victim was available.

In another arrest,  Richard W. Bradford Jr., 27, 927 Bowmar Ave., was arrested at 1 p.m. Monday for aggravated domestic violence. He was released from the jail on a $10,000 bond.
