Friday’s wet, icy weather shuffled Warren County’s high school sports schedule.
While today’s Red Carpet Classic basketball games will be played as scheduled — St. Aloysius tips off the six-game marathon at Warren Central at 10 a.m. against Mount Olive — four sporting events scheduled for Friday were either postponed or canceled:
* Warren Central’s soccer games at Northwest Rankin were postponed until today at 3 p.m., and will be played at Millsaps College. WC and Northwest Rankin will meet again Tuesday in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs at Northwest.
* St. Aloysius’ home soccer game against St. Andrew’s was canceled. With the state playoffs starting Tuesday, it will not be made up. St. Al’s basketball games against Cathedral was played as scheduled.
* Vicksburg High’s basketball game at Yazoo County was postponed. The Division 3-4A contest must be made up, but it was not expected to be rescheduled until next week.
* Porters Chapel’s basketball game against Rebul Academy was postponed until Tuesday. The boys’ varsity game — Rebul has no girls’ varsity squad — will start at 7 p.m. at Rebul.
The National Weather Service is predicting a partly sunny day with highs in the mid-50s today.
