VICKLAND — S.L. Ruffin died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at his home in Vickland. He was 81.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie W. Ruffin; two sons, James Williams of Biloxi and Sammie Ruffin Jr. of Greenville; one daughter, Rosie Kirk of Vickland; a sister, Annie Jackson of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Earl Johnson of Vickland.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with Pastor Carlton Earles officiating. Burial will follow in Anguilla under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.
