James Donald “Pete” Westcott died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 62.

Mr. Westcott was born in Fulton County, Ga., and had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 53 years. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters, Local No. 619, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Mildred Jackson Westcott; and a sister, Robbie Ann Sitzman.

Survivors include a daughter, Alicia W. Cook of Vicksburg; two brothers, Eddie Westcott and Elvin Westcott, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Bonnie Ford and Myrtis Hamm, both of Vicksburg; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
