One person was arrested and another was being sought after a resident of a Main Street apartment went home Thursday morning and, from outside, saw an intruder inside.

When Vicksburg police arrived, they found Heather Miller, 22, 2509 Ben Bolia St., outside with a Magnovox DVD player valued at $80, a Dell laptop valued at $900 and a PlayStation 2 valued at $350, all of which the resident said had been stolen, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

The man with Miller, who was identified as Burnette Armstead, age and address unavailable, ran as police arrived and had not been found this morning.

The owner told police that baseball caps valued at $100 were still missing.

Miller, who was charged with receiving stolen property, was released on bond from the Warren County Jail.

Stewart asked that anyone with information on Armstead’s whereabouts call police at 601-636-2511.

DVD player missing on First North Street

A Sony DVD player valued at $100 was reported stolen at 1:49 p.m. Thursday from the 1100 block of First North Street, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Gas, water line breaks close U.S. 80 for hours

Traffic was diverted off U.S. 80 Thursday evening after a Culkin water main and an Atmos Energy gas line ruptured around 5:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of the highway, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Deputies and highway patrolmen blocked the road for about three hours while repairs were made, Pace said.
