Edward Frank Bonner
MER ROUGE, La. – Edward Frank “Bud” Bonner died Monday, July 7, 2008, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was 64.
Born in Lake Providence, Mr. Bonner was a resident of Mer Rouge, La. He was a farmer.
Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, La., has charge of arrangements.
Evron E. Bryant
TALLULAH – Evron E. “Skeeter” Bryant died Monday, July 7, 2008, at his home near Tallulah. He was 74.
Born in Oden, Ark., Mr. Bryant had lived in Madison Parish most of his life. He was a retired heavy-equipment operator and farmer. He was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Bruce Wayne Bryant of Tallulah; two daughters, Annette Bryant Franklin of Delhi and Connie L. Bryant of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Sadie Mae Day of Delta and Lucy Currey of Gurdon, Ark.; one brother, Selton Fletcher Bryant of Pascagoula; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Michael Dewayne Goode
TALLULAH – Funeral services for Mr. Michael Dewayne “Mike” Goode, age 46 of Tallulah, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Cletus Moak officiating. Burial will be at the Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.
Visitation will be Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9 until 11.
Mr. Goode died Monday afternoon, July 7, 2008, in Nacogdoches, Texas, from a motorcycle accident. He was born in Vicksburg and had lived in Madison Parish for 12 years. He was an iron worker and heavy-equipment operator.
Survivors include his mother, Judy Brooks and her husband, Billy, of Tallulah; his father, Donald R. Goode of San Antonio, Texas; his grandfather, Damon Revelle of Tallulah; sister, Phyllis Reid of Macon, Ga.; two nieces, Stacy Brent and Jada Jobe, both of Tallulah; and one nephew, Jordan Delaney of Tallulah.
Active pallbearers will be Curtis Wyble, Damon Wyble, Carroll Wyble, Derek Qualls, Billy Joe Qualls and Clay Ratcliff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Bedgood, Ron Bedgood Jr., Jamie Isaac, John Pritchett and Clyne Elledge.
Etta Ruth Harris
Etta Ruth Harris died Monday, July 7, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 65.
Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Harris was a member of Greater Mount Zion M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Harris; her parents, Ed Matthew and Ruthie Lee Sullivan Bullock; one son, Leo Matthews; and one daughter, Shirley Harris.
Survivors include three sons, Oliver Matthews of Gulfport, John K. Harris of Vicksburg and Randolph Harris of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Annette Matthews of Atlanta and Janie Harris and Janet Nelson, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Richard Robison and Wesley Bullock, both of Rolling Fork, and Earl Williams of South Carolina; one sister, Jackie Davis of Rolling Fork; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends.
