Abraham Barnes

Abraham Barnes died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 70.

Mr. Barnes was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a former welder for LeTourneau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Elizabeth Barnes.

Survivors include a son, James Wilson of Utica; and seven grandchildren.

Keonna Renee Flowers

Keonna Renee Flowers, infant daughter of Christopher Troy Williams Sr. and Annie Elaine Flowers, both of Vicksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Walker Williams.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three brothers, Keon Williams, Camron Williams and Christopher Troy Williams Jr., all of Vicksburg; one sister, Kaleckka Williams of Vicksburg; her maternal grandparents, Roosevelt Henyard and Dixie Ann Flowers, both of Vicksburg; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Doss of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Beatrice V. Jones

Beatrice V. “Ma Bea” Jones died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.

A homemaker, Mrs. Jones was born in Bovina. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Cook and Albert Jones; a stepson, Lacey Jones; a daughter, JoAnn Cook; two brothers, A.C. Jackson and R.D. Jackson; and her parents, Monroe Jackson and Edna Walker White.

She is survived by a son, James Cook Sr. of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Edna Green, Abraham Green and her caregiver, Sylvia Jackson.

Jeanetta Eatmon Kelley

Jeanetta Eatmon Kelley died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at her home in Round Rock, Texas. She was 60.

Mrs. Kelley was a member of Belmont M.B. Church in Utica.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cleo Eatmon; and five brothers, Jonathan Carson, Lewis Carson, James Raymond Earl Carson, Walter Luster Carson and Edmond Burks Carson.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Kelley of Round Rock; two sons, Anthony James Smith and Charles Kelley Jr., both of Austin, Texas; five sisters, Maggie Dell Cook of Edwards, Mary Louise Eatmon of Fort Worth, Texas, and Willena Carson Huband, Zeanette Eatmon and Mae Frances Brown, all of vicksburg; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

James L. Parsons Jr.

URBANA, Ill. — Services for James L. “Man Boy” Parsons Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Parsons died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in Urbana, Ill. He was 62.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Parsons retired as a porter for Amtrak. He attended the Church of Living God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Jr. and Bertha Parsons; and a brother, John L. Parsons.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Parsons of Urbana; one son, Donald F. Newton of the U.S. Army in Italy; two daughters, Jennyfe Williams of Vicksburg and Elise Parsons of Champaign, Ill.; two brothers, Victor Parsons of Saginaw, Mich., and Joe Kelly Parsons of Vicksburg; one sister, Jenneffe Stewart of Saginaw; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
